All American Scores an Early Season 6 Renewal at The CW
All American has scored an early Season 6 renewal at The CW.
Despite all the upheaval at the network, TV Line reports that the football drama inspired by the life of former NFL player Spencer Paysinger will return for a sixth season during the 2023/2024 broadcast season.

As previously reported, the network canceled 4400, Charmed, Dynasty, In the Dark, Naomi, and Roswell, New Mexico in May last year. Shortly before, The CW also canceled Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow.
By June, Nancy Drew‘s spinoff series Tom Swift was canceled before its debut season even finished. The CW then announced that Nancy Drew would end with Season 4.
The network’s existing 2022/2023 slate also includes Riverdale‘s upcoming seventh and final season and, as previously reported, Superman & Lois Season 3 and Gotham Knights, which will premiere in March.
Plus, the Arrowverse will come to an end with The Flash‘s ninth and final season that debuts next month.

All American Season 5, which debuted in October, is also a part of The CW’s current original programming. Though it has been on hiatus since November, new episodes return with the midseason premiere on Monday, January 23 at 8/7c on The CW.
Variety reports that Brad Schwartz, president of entertainment at The CW, released a statement upon All American‘s Season 6 renewal.
“Over the last five seasons, All American has established itself as one of the all-time CW flagship franchises. All American is not only the network’s youngest series but also the strongest performer when combining all our platforms,” Schwartz said.
“We look forward to continuing our collaboration with showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, the entire creative team, and the incredible cast for another season of captivating family drama,” Schwartz concluded.

All American, produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios, stars Taye Diggs, Monet Mazur, Samantha Logan, Cody Christian, Bre-Z, Hunter Clowdus, Michael Evans Behling, and Greta Onieogou.
The series is created by April Blair, and Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, John A. Norris, Jameal Turner, Mike Herro, and David Strauss serve as executive producers.
As of reporting, there is no word about the renewal status of All American‘s spinoff series All American: Homecoming.
