9-1-1, 9-1-1: Nashville, and High Potential Renewed at ABC
ABC has renewed three more scripted series for its 2026/2027 programming season — 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Nashville, and High Potential.
9-1-1 has been renewed for its tenth season, while 9-1-1: Nashville, its latest spinoff series, will return for its sophomore season.
Deadline reports that “both rank in the Top 10 dramas among Adults 18-49 in multi-platform viewing over seven days, with 9-1-1: Nashville standing as TV’s No. 1 new drama in the demo.”

This double-renewal for the 9-1-1 franchise also comes ahead of the two-hour crossover, airing on Thursday, March 5. It kicks off with 9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 12, “Dads and Cads,” at 8/7c, followed by 9-1-1: Nashville Season 1 Episode 12, “Spirit of the Games,” at 9/8c.
Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, the flagship first responders show stars Angela Bassett, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Oliver Stark, Kenneth Choi, Aisha Hinds, Ryan Guzman, and Gavin McHugh.
Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, John J. Gray, Brad Buecker, Lyndsey Beaulieu, Ted Griffen, and Robert M. Williams serve as executive producers on 9-1-1.
20th Television, in association with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision, produces.

9-1-1: Nashville stars Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, LeAnn Rimes, Hailey Kilgore, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz, and Hunter McVey.
Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and showrunner Rashad Raisani serve as executive producers and writers. Chris O’Donnell, Brad Buecker, Brad Falchuk, and Angela Bassett are also executive producers. 20th Television, in association with Ryan Murphy Television, produces 9-1-1: Nashville.
9-1-1 and its spinoff are joined by the renewal of High Potential, which will officially return for a third season on ABC, per Variety.
The Kaitlin Olsen-led procedural created by Drew Goddard will have a new showrunner for Season 3, per Deadline. Todd Harthan, who has been its showrunner for the last two seasons, is exiting the series. The decision comes as Harthan focuses on Disney+’s Eragon.

This news comes after the show’s return from hiatus with High Potential Season 2 Episode 13, “In the Driver’s Seat,” which aired on Tuesday, March 3, on ABC.
Alongside Olson, High Potential also stars Daniel Sunjata, Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amirah J, Matthew Lamb, Steve Howey, and Judy Reyes.
All three renewals come the day after ABC renewed Abbott Elementary for its sixth season.
