Heartstopper Season 3 Adds Jonathan Bailey, Hayley Atwell, and Eddie Marsan
Say “Hi” to Jonathan Bailey as Jack Maddox!
The Bridgerton star has joined Heartstopper Season 3 to cameo as the author, whom Netflix’s TUDUM describes as “an Instagram-famous classicist and Charlie’s celebrity crush.” Bailey’s role on the YA series has been reported for months, but Netflix’s confirmation makes his addition official.
Bailey will appear in Heartstoppper‘s third season, which will premiere on the streamer in October, alongside Hayley Atwell and Eddie Marsan.
Atwell will portray “Nick’s aunt, Diane, who takes Nick on a summer holiday to Menorca and “has some tough advice to impart about his relationship,” series creator and writer Alice Oseman told Netflix.
Marson will play “Geoff, Charlie’s wise and straight-talking therapist.” All three characters appear in Oseman’s graphic novels, which the Netflix series is based on.
“I am incredibly excited to be welcoming three new cast members to the Heartstopper family,” Oseman said in a statement, per TV Line.
“It was an absolute joy to see Hayley, Eddie, and Jonathan’s talent alongside our existing cast, and I can’t wait for the Heartstopper fans to meet these new characters,” Oseman added.

Bailey, Atwell, and Marson join returning stars Kit Connor, Joe Locke, Yasmin Finney, Will Gao, Kizzy Edgell, Corinna Brown, Tobie Donovan, Rhea Norwood, Leila Khan, and Jenny Walser. As previously announced, Darragh Hand will appear in Season 3 as Tori’s friend, Michael Holden.
Heartstopper‘s third season picks up after the Season 2 finale, “with Charlie eager to tell Nick that he loves him, and Nick holding on to something important he has to say to Charlie.” The entire season’s synopsis reads as follows:
Charlie would like to tell Nick that he loves him. Nick also has something important to say to Charlie. As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realise that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges. As they learn more about each other and their relationships, plan social events and parties and start thinking about university choices, everyone must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn’t go to plan.
The upcoming season began production in October 2023 after a two-season renewal after its series debut in May 2022. Andy Newbery takes over Euros Lyn in directing Season 3. Alice Oseman writes and executive produces Heartstopper. Patrick Walters and Euros Lyn executive produce the show.
