Brie Larson Cooks Up ‘Lessons in Chemistry’ in the Trailer for Apple TV+ Limited Series
Brie Larson steps out of the lab and into the kitchen to stir up Lesson in Chemistry in the trailer for Apple TV+’s limited series.
The Academy Award-winning actress, who executive produces the show, leads into the trailer with the hook of “Let’s begin, shall we?” From there, Larson’s voiceover introduces Elizabeth Zott, a woman whose dream of being a scientist is put on hold by a patriarchal society.
Lessons in Chemistry makes its two-episode debut on Friday, October 13, with new episodes of its eight-episode season streaming weekly through November 24.

Based on the bestselling novel by author, science editor, and copywriter Bonnie Garmus and set in the early 1950s, Lessons in Chemistry follows Elizabeth after she’s fired from her lab and accepts a job as the host of a TV cooking show, Supper at Six.
The Apple TV+ show’s teaser trailer revealed some of Elizabeth’s journey upon its release in April 2023, but the trailer — set to Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times” — shows the sexist reasoning for Elizabeth’s termination.
The all-men panel of higher-ups tells her, “This institution has a reputation based on the world-class scientists. Not the theories of a pretty lab tech.”
That brutal end brings Elizabeth to a new beginning when a TV producer tells her, “You are poised to become a TV star,” and she does.

With her platform, which Aja Naomi King’s character encourages her friend to use, Elizabeth “sets out to teach a nation of overlooked housewives — and the men who are suddenly listening — a lot more than recipes,” per Lessons in Chemistry‘s synopsis.
One man who listens to Elizabeth is Lewis Pullman’s character; readers of Garmus’ acclaimed novel will likely recognize him as Calvin Evans. “You are what I treasure most in this world. Not because you are pretty, not because you are smart, but because you love me, and I love you,” he tells Elizabeth in the trailer.
Lessons in Chemistry also stars Stephanie Koenig, Kevin Sussman, Patrick Walker, and Thomas Mann.

Produced for Apple TV+ by Apple Studios, Seven-time Emmy Award nominee Lee Eisenberg showruns Lessons in Chemistry.
Susannah Grant executive produces alongside Larson. Michael Costigan and Jason Bateman executive produce for Aggregate Films.
Sarah Adina Smith directs and executive produces Lessons in Chemistry‘s first two episodes.
Natalie Sandy executive produces through Piece of Work Entertainment alongside Eisenberg. Louise Shore also executive produces.
