Ahsoka Sets Earlier Premiere Date and New Release Schedule at Disney+

Just days away from its Wednesday, August 23rd premiere, Ahsoka shakes things up by announcing that the series will now premiere early.

According to TVLine, Star Wars: Ahsoka will make its series debut on Tuesday, August 22, at 9/8c on Disney+.

As previously reported in June, following the double-episode debut, the eight-episode Season 1 will release new episodes weekly. With this change to the release schedule, WDW News Today confirms those episodes will stream every Tuesday at 9 pm ET.

This shake-up allows fans to consume the much anticipated Star Wars content a few hours earlier. 

Ahsoka follows the story of the character first introduced in live-action on The Mandalorian. On this new series, she will seek Grand Admiral Thrawn alone. Per the trailer, Ahsoka realizes the problems with the galaxy she loves are beyond her capabilities and that she must return to the Jedi Order she abandoned years ago.

The series puts Ahsoka Tano on the road toward her former padawan, Sabine, played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo. Once reunited with Sabine, the pair will set out together to find Ezra, hoping he can help them with the threat Thrawn poses to the galaxy.

It won’t be smooth sailing for Ahsoka or Sabine, considering how they left things when they last saw each other.

As announced at Star Wars Celebration 2023, Mary Elizabeth Winstead joins the cast as Hera Syndulla. Hera Syndulla was the captain of the Star Wars Rebels team, and her trusty droid, Chopper, will be making an appearance in the series as well.

Meanwhile, Lars Mikkelsen will appear as Thrawn, reprising the role he voiced on Star Wars Rebels. Other Ahsoka cast members include Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skolland, Wes Chatham as Thrawn’s right-hand man, and David Tennant as Huyang.

Additionally, the show stars Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, and Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth.

As reported in October 2021, Hayden Christensen will reprise his role of Anakin Skywalker in some capacity on Star Wars: Ahsoka.
