Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of February 21st! We’ll be sharing our picks for what to watch this week, from marathons to big guest spots, and significant episodes of TV to look forward to while stuck inside.

This week’s picks include the premiere of Superman and Lois, Dickinson‘s season finale, the return of Close Enough, and more.

In the first episode of the new docuseries, Mia Farrow recounts the early years of her relationship with director Woody Allen. Farrow discusses her growing concern over Allen’s interest in her daughter, Dylan, while Dylan O’Sullivan Farrow describes her own discomfort with Allen during those years. Allen V. Farrow premieres Sunday, February 21 at 9/8c on HBO

Miniseries Description: A look behind the years of sensational headlines to reveal the private story of the accusation of sexual abuse against Woody Allen involving, his 7-year-old daughter with Mia Farrow. 

Superman and Lois – Tuesday, February 23

Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 1, "Pilot"

The newest addition to The CW’s Arrowverse, Superman and Lois, follow Lois and Clark back to Smallville with their two teenage sons. The family’s hope to build a quiet life for themselves is complicated by the appearance of some mysterious strangers. Superman and Lois premieres Tuesday, February 23 at 8/7c on The CW

Series Description: Follow the world’s most famous superhero and comic books’ most famous journalist as they deal with all the stress, pressures, and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.

Snowfall – Wednesday, February 24

The crime drama Snowfall is back for its fourth season with a 2 episode premiere. Picking up in the heart of Regan’s second term and the “war on drugs,” Franklin’s business is prospering even as he and his dealers are beginning to see the harm drugs are doing to their community. Snowfall airs Wednesday, February 23 at 10/9c on FX.

Season Description: Business is booming in season four of Snowfall. It’s January 1st, 1985. Ronald Reagan has won his re-election campaign proclaiming it is “morning again in America,” but in South Central, Los Angeles, it feels more like the sun is getting low. The demand for crack cocaine is high, and while our crew of dealers led by Franklin Saint (Damson Idris) are benefiting greatly from the rising tide of addiction, they are also starting to become aware of the damage the drug is doing to the people and to the place they love. With the entire nation taking note, the LAPD is diverting serious money and resources to the “war on drugs.” Politicians’ phones are ringing. Powerful people are concerned from the hallways of The White House to those of CIA headquarters, where there are whispers that one of their own may be involved in this burgeoning epidemic. 

Ginny & Georgia – Wednesday, February 24

Hoping to be the heir to Gilmore Girls, Netflix’s newest drama follows mother and daughter, Georgia and Ginny, through the trials and tribulations of their relationships as they move to a new town and grapple with long-kept secrets. Ginny & Georgia premieres Wednesday, February 24 on Netflix

For Life – Wednesday, February 24

For Life’s takes on police brutality and racial justice in its Season 2 finale. For Life airs Wednesday, February 24 on ABC.

Episode Description: In the season finale, Aaron and his legal team face their toughest trial yet as they prosecute the police officer responsible for the killing of an innocent, unarmed Black man. 

Punky Brewster – Thursday, February 25

Punky Brewster Season 1 Episode 1

80s icon Punky Brewster is back. Now, Punky is a single mother trying to rebuild her life on Peacock’s newest nostalgic revival. Punky Brewster airs Thursday, February 25 on Peacock.

Series Description: In this continuation of the iconic 80s sitcom about a bright young girl raised by a foster dad, Punky is now a single mother of three trying to get her life back on track when she meets Izzy, a young girl in the foster system who reminds Punky a lot of her younger self. 

Close Enough – Thursday, February 25

Close Enough makes its move to HBO Max with the premiere of its second season. The gang is all back and still trying to figure out this whole adulting thing in the midst of ghosts, ghouls, and time-traveling whiskey. Close Enough airs Thursday, February 25 on HBO Max.

Season Description: From Emmy® winning creator JG Quintel (“Regular Show”) comes season two of CLOSE ENOUGH, the animated comedy about a married couple, their five-year-old daughter, and their divorced best friends all living together on the east-side of Los Angeles. Season two has Josh, Emily and the gang continuing to navigate adulthood while contending with haunted couches, bulbous horses, time-travelling whiskeys, and a literal houseguest from hell — all in their very own apartment. 

Dickinson – Friday, February 26

Dickinson Season 2 Episode 9

Dickinson Season 1 ended with a wedding, and now Season 2 will wrap with a christening. The town may be focused on the more joyful events, but Emily’s concern is getting her poems back from Sam. Don’t forget to catch up on our review of Dickinson Season 2 Episode 9, “I Like a Look of Agony,” before the finale. Dickinson’s Season 2 finale airs Friday, February 26 on Apple TV+.

Movie Description: The legendary Billie Holiday, one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time, spent much of her career being adored by fans across the globe. Beginning in the 1940’s in New York City, the federal government targeted Holiday in a growing effort to escalate and racialize the war on drugs, ultimately aiming to stop her from singing her controversial and heart-wrenching ballad, “Strange Fruit.”
