Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 Trailer Brings Family Together in The Sea of Monsters

News, Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Percy Jackson and the Olympians fans have been waiting for the Season 2 trailer to finally make its way to shore. Fortunately, Disney+ and Hulu have dropped those sails as the trailer is here.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 sees the iconic trio broken up as Grover has embarked on a mission to search for Pan. Unfortunately, he is lost in the Sea of Monsters. Percy and Annabeth hope to find Grover with the help of an unlikely partner while dealing with Luke’s actions.

As fans wondered how Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 would adapt author Rick Riordan’s second novel, the trailer provides a focus on the division between the gods and their children. It covers several parts of The Sea of Monsters, first revealing Percy’s dreams about Grover’s disappearance.

This ties back to an element from Riordan’s novel known as an “empathy link,” where a demigod and their satyr guardian share a unique bond. Annabeth makes this apparent when she meets Percy later on at his new school.

Fans are also treated to the new state of Camp Half-Blood, now overseen by Tantalus due to some unfortunate circumstances with Chiron. Tantalus has reinstated old camp traditions, including the deadly chariot race.

This scene plays a very important role in establishing the dynamic between Percy and his half-brother, Tyson, early on in The Sea of Monsters

There’s also a brief scene of Percy trying to get some advice from both Poseidon and his human mother, Sally. Given how Tyson presents a challenge of acceptance for Percy, these conversations are extremely key for Percy’s arc.

On the gods and figures of mythology, Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 presents a new look at Rosemarie DeWitt’s Circe, who runs her own resort to trap lost souls. Fans get a look at what Circe does: turning people into hamsters.

It also appears that Circe’s hotel will be explored as a location and story point in the later parts of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2.

Additionally, old gods from Season 1 return, including Adam Copeland’s Ares and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hermes. Both play an integral role for their respective demigod children in the book.

Meanwhile, Luke’s actions against Camp Half-Blood were previously shown in previous trailers. They are now much more apparent with his early attacks on Percy’s team and Thalia’s tree.

Furthermore, Blackjack, Percy’s steady pegasus, also makes a brief appearance during Luke’s initial retreat.

There are even more teases, like a new look at Kronos, Polyphemus, and Percy and Clarisse’s team fighting the Scylla and Charybdis.
