Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 SDCC Teaser Trailer Reveals Luke Castellan’s Army, Tyson, and More Troubles

News, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, San Diego Comic-Con

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 is already looking to be one chaotic adventure, and fans have been given some more exciting things!

At San Diego Comic-Con, the teaser trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 was released following the Hall H panel. During which, author Rick Riordan announced that the second season will premiere on Wednesday, December 10, on Disney+.

Additionally, some new castings for Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 were announced. FBI‘s Levi Chrisopulos will be playing Nico di Angelo, son of Hades, and Outer Range‘s Olive Abercrombie will be playing Nico’s older sister, Bianca.

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 teaser trailer, however, covers some ground from Riordan’s second book, The Sea of Monsters. Given how there’s more action in Season 2, this trailer highlights that aspect.

It opens with what looks to be Kronos’ army amassing as Percy and Annabeth fare in the Sea of Monsters while Grover is trapped on Polyphemus’ island.

Luke Castellan, who betrayed Camp Half-Blood on Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 Episode 8 “The Prophecy Comes True”, seems to have snuck back in, planning to cause more trouble.

The trailer also features the Camp Half-Blood chariot race that’s been teased multiple times. Percy and Clarisse clash in this sequence, but also in some more scenes as they fight on the beach amid their crash.

Fans are also treated to more “Percabeth” moments between the two that are spread throughout Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2.

Some scenes show Annabeth worrying about traversing the cursed Sea. However, Percy assures her that by working together, they’ll overcome the dangers. A previous scene also shows Annabeth passed out on the beach as her knife falls out of her hands.

Additional short scenes highlight the Gray Sisters, Clarisse’s undead navymen, and Luke Castellan’s brainwashed army of demigods and monsters. The clips tease the eventual encounter between Luke and Percy’s forces.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians fans also get a better understanding of one of Season 2’s original characters, Alison Simms. From the weaponry Simms wields, it looks like she will be a child of Apollo, given the god’s mastery of archery. She also appears in moments with Grover as they try to escape these chaotic islands.

At the end of the trailer, fans get a better look at Tyson, Percy’s Cyclops half-brother, who tries to help in the ways he can. In The Sea of Monsters, Tyson was treated as an outcast at Camp Half-Blood due to how Cyclopes were viewed as monsters by the demigods.

However, the one character that has not yet appeared is Thalia Grace, played by Tamara Smart. While there was one scene where Luke was taking his knife out of Thalia’s tree, the daughter of Zeus has yet to be presented.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, Tamara Smart, and Daniel Diemer.

Rick and Becky Riordan serve as executive producers alongside Jonathan E. Steinberg, Dan Shotz, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, D. J. Goldberg, Bert Salke, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Monica Owusu-Breen, Anders Engström, Jet Wilkinson, Craig Silverstein, and Albert Kim.
