The Rookie Season 7 Episode 14 Preview: Mad About Murder
The team takes on various investigations while a familiar foe returns on The Rookie Season 7 Episode 14, “Mad About Murder.”
While the promo video focuses on something else, the episode will see Tim look closer at the dark web after receiving a strange message. There is little to no context for that message in the promotional material for “Mad About Murder.”
Instead, The Rookie teases a long-awaited Angela and Tim scene, where the former asks the latter what’s happening between him and Lucy. After all, Tim and Lucy’s relationship has seemed more will-they-won’t-they as of late, particularly on The Rookie Season 7 Episode 12, “April Fools.”
Tim tells Angela that he doesn’t know what’s going on between them, but he’s certain that Lucy is preparing for the sergeant’s exam. When Angela entertains that step as being a positive one for their romantic relationship’s repair, Tim clears their by saying, “No, it’s a good move for her career.”
As for her career, the photos for “Mad About Murder” tease that Lucy will team up with Celina, who is working to take down a popular podcast.
Meanwhile, Malvado, the hitman, is back. Malvado last appeared on The Rookie Season 7 Episode 5, “Til Death,” when Malvado, hired by the Southern Front, killed Jason Wyler. He has evaded police custody ever since.
The promo video shows John delivering the news of Malvado’s return to Bailey. She responds, “We always knew there was a possibility he’d come back, but he has no reason to come after us.” Hopefully, the episode will — or at least start to — uncover the reason behind Malvado’s reappearance.
