The Witcher Season 4 Adds Laurence Fishburne as Regis
The Witcher has found its Regis in Laurence Fishburne.
Netflix took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the casting announcement. Regis is described as “a world-wise Barber-surgeon with a mysterious past.” The character is introduced in Baptism of Fire, the third novel in Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher series on which the show and video games are based.
“I’m very excited to be joining the cast and look forward to exploring the wondrous world of The Witcher,” Fishburne said in a statement, per TV Line.

Fishburne isn’t the only new cast member joining The Witcher for its fourth season. Liam Hemsworth is set to replace Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. Cavill portrayed the role for the show’s first three seasons.
“As a Witcher fan, I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia,” Liam Hemsworth said in a statement per Netflix’s TUDUM.
“Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure,” Hemsworth added.
Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world,” Hemsworth concluded.

The fantasy show’s returning cast members are Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Freya Allan as Ciri, and Joey Batey as Jaskier, per Deadline.
The Witcher‘s Season 4 synopsis reads as follows:
After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire — and finding one another again.
The Witcher Season 3 Volume 1, consisting of five episodes, dropped in June 2023, with The Witcher Season 3 Volume 2, consisting of the season’s and Cavill’s final three episodes, debuted in July 2023.
Steve Gaub, Matt O’Toole, Mike Ostrowski, and Javier Grillo-Marxuach executive produce the show. Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko are executive producers for Platige Films, and Jason Brown and Sean Daniel are executive producers for Hivemind Content.
