What to Expect from The Witcher Season 4

Previews

Liam Hemsworth makes his debut as Geralt of Rivia with the premiere of The Witcher Season 4 on Netflix.

As most viewers know, Hemsworth was cast to take over the series’ titular role after Henry Cavill decided to leave before the premiere of the third season. Hemsworth’s Geralt looks to be picking up exactly where Cavill’s left off, too.

As viewers will remember, our once-happy little Witcher family was again separated at the end of Season 3.

Yennifer stayed behind with what remained of the Brotherhood to rebuild and strategize after the brutal battle at the Conclave of Mages, and the death of Tissaia left them decimated and demoralized.

In Season 4, Yennifer continues that work, potentially even allying with the Elves who learned some damning truths about the White Flame at the end of Season 3.

Meanwhile, in Season 3, Geralt was brutally beaten in a fight with Vilgefortz, who was revealed to be a major villain a few episodes earlier. Induring a difficult recovery in Season 3, he is on a mission to rescue Ciri in Season 4.

But that might prove more difficult than expected. After Ciri’s emotional trial with her ancestor, Falka, and then being forced to kill her first person while being held hostage, Ciri might not be who she was when she left Geralt.

In fact, at the end of the season when she becomes part of the Rat gang, she interduces herself as Falka rather than Ciri. Talking on the name of the ansestor that tried to push her to embrace destroying the world seems like a dark sign regarding Ciri’s arc this season.

Will Geralt be able to find her in time to pull her back from the Brink?

Also, how will The White Flames’ marriage to the fake Ciri, as well as the coronation of Prince Radovid, change the political landscape? What role will Laurence Fishburne’s new character play in everything?

Here’s everything you need to know about this season, including the air date, cast, promo, and how to watch.
