Another casting shake-up will hit One Chicago during Chicago Fire Season 12.

Alberto Rosende, who played the young firefighter, Blake Gallo, will exit the Dick Wolf drama during its upcoming season premiere, per TV Line.

Chicago Fire Season 12 premieres on Wednesday, January 17, at 9/8c on NBC.

“Sources say his departure from the Wolf Entertainment/Universal Television drama was fully amicable,” Deadline reports.

Rosende made his One Chicago debut on Chicago Fire Season 8 Episode 2, “A Real Shot in the Arm,” on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. Blake Gallo has made a name for himself at Firehouse 51 for four seasons.

News of Rosende’s exit comes amid a flurry of One Chicago casting surprises. 

First, news broke that Tracy Spiridakos, who played Hailey Upton since Season 4, would exit Chicago P.D. after Season 11.

A few days later, Variety reported that Taylor Kinney will return as Kelly Severide to Chicago Fire during Season 12. Per the outlet, it is unknown how many episodes he will appear in, but Kinney will return toward the beginning of the season.

Kinney’s return comes after his leave of absence during Chicago Fire Season 11.

Then, Variety reported Kara Killmer will exit the firefighting drama during Season 12. Killmer has portrayed Sylvie Brett since Chicago Fire Season 3 Episode 1, “Always,” in 2014.

Sylvie Brett’s on-and-off relationship with Matt Casey took a turn on Chicago Fire Season 11 Episode 22, “Red Waterfall,” when he proposed. Could Brett go back to Oregon with Casey? Jesse Spencer returned to the show amid Taylor Kinney’s leave of absence.

Most recently, Deadline reported that Luke Mitchell would join Chicago Med Season 9 in a guest starring role that could expand.

Mitchell joins the show after the exits of Brian Tee and Nick Gehlfuss.

He “will portray Dr. Mitch Ripley (name could change), an Emergency Department doctor with a troubled past who shares a history with Dr. Charles.” The outlet reports that Mitchell will debut as Dr. Mitch Ripley during Chicago Med‘s season premiere on Wednesday, January 17, at 8/7c on NBC.
