The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Teaser Trailer Released by Prime Video

Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty creates a Taylor Swift tradition with its wistful Season 2 teaser trailer.

Like Season 1’s trailer debuted “This Love (Taylor’s Version),” the new footage from the show’s upcoming season is perfectly accompanied by another Taylor Swift song — “august,” from her eighth album folklore.

Fans of Jenny Han’s The Summer I Turned Pretty book trilogy, on which the show is based, will notice that scenes are once again jumping off the page and onto the small screen, especially those from the second book — It’s Not Summer Without You.

More specifically, a blink-and-you-‘ll-miss-it glimpse of Belly’s Prom night with Christopher Briney’s Conrad builds on the season’s first-look images. Book readers know all too well how that ends.

A notable look of longing from Jeremiah to Lola Tung’s Belly posits that this love triangle is far from over. Interestingly, the only spoken line in the trailer comes from Gavin Casalegno when Jeremiah tells her and his brother, “We get it. You guys are into each other,” when Belly wears that infinity necklace from Season 1.

Per The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Season 2 synopsis, “Belly used to count down the days until she could return to Cousins Beach, but with Conrad and Jeremiah fighting over her heart and the return of Susannah’s cancer, she’s not sure summer will ever be the same.”

“When an unexpected visitor threatens the future of Susannah’s beloved house, Belly has to rally the gang to come together—and to decide once and for all where her heart lies.”

The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s teaser trailer also teases more expansive stories for Belly’s brother Steven and her best friend Taylor, as Sean Kaufman and Rain Spencer are returning as series regulars.

David Iacono also returns as Cam Cameron in a recurring guest, with Kyra Sedgwick and Elsie Fisher joining in recurring roles. Jackie Chung and Rachel Blanchard will also star.  

As previously reported, The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 premieres three episodes on Friday, July 14, on Prime Video. New episodes will stream weekly until this season finale on August 18.
