Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is taking a step back in time to relive the epic love story that transformed high society and The Ton for future generations.
The six-episode season will follow Golda Rosheuvel’s Charlotte as the monarch passes the gauntlet to a younger version of the Queen (played by India Amarteifio.) Fans of Bridgerton will see the royal society they know in its humble beginnings as Charlotte is swept off her feet by a charming King George.
However, not everything is as it seems, and this love story is not for the faint of heart as Charlotte learns to fight for what her country deserves and her heart desires.
The older Lady Danbury and Violet Bridgerton we have come to know well will help each other navigate a blossoming romance as widowers. However, long-buried secrets from their past will test this friendship in ways Bridgerton has not yet revealed.
In the present day of The Ton, we will also meet the Queen’s thirteen children and the complicated dynamics they present in the race to deliver an heir to the throne.
At young Charlotte’s side throughout this drama is the newly appointed Brimsley. The Queen’s right-hand man will help Charlotte navigate a vicious court of enemies, faux pas, and her complicated romance with George.
But the young butler has his own pursuits that will delight and surprise viewers.
With grand royal settings and a stylish wardrobe worthy of the outrageous wigs the Queen is known for, Queen Charlotte previews a formidable contender in the Bridgerton saga with a new cast of heavy hitters ready to serve the crown.
