Disney Channel and Disney+ released the trailer for the romantic comedy set during the high school Prom season, Prom Pact, starring Peyton Elizabeth Lee as Mandy Yang, Milo Manheim as Ben Plunkett, and newcomer Blake Draper as Graham Lansing.

Prom Pact will debut on Thursday, March 30, at 8/7c on Disney Channel and stream on Friday, March 31, on Disney+.

In the Disney Original Movie, Mandy, a high school senior, “keeps her eyes focused on a different goal: her lifelong dream of attending Harvard,” while she and “her best friend and fellow outsider Ben are surrounded by over-the-top ’80s-themed promposals.”

Per the movie’s synopsis, “When she finds out that she has been put on the waitlist, she is determined to do whatever she can do to get herself accepted, even if that means asking for help from the one person she abhors — popular all-star jock Graham Lansing, whose father is a powerful senator and Harvard alum.”

Set to a cover of Modern English’s “I Melt With You,” the trailer shows glimpses of promposals inspired by Ghostbusters, Say Anything, and Back to the Future, but Mandy and Ben opt for a more casual promposal with each other to pull themselves off the sidelines in their last year of high school.

Mandy and Ben’s adventure into the social zeitgeist of high school includes attending a party to get Mandy on the good side of Graham so she can get a letter of recommendation from his father.

However, everything doesn’t go as planned, and “once Mandy becomes Graham’s tutor, she begins to realize there’s more to him than she thought and perhaps something more to life than Harvard.”

Previously branded Disney Channel Original Movies or DCOMs, Prom Pact falls under Disney Branded Television’s recently revised umbrella of Disney Original Movies.

This change occurred with the introduction of Disney’s streaming platform, Disney+. For instance, Zombies, which stars Manheim and The Winchesters‘ Meg Donnelly, is a Disney Channel Original Movie franchise that debuted its final film under the new terms.

As previously reported, the trailer for the upcoming season also sees Milo Manheim join the cast as a new bad boy with a dirt bike, Nico.

Prom Pact also stars Monique Green as LaToya, Arica Himmel as Zenobia, Jason Sakaki as Charles, Chelah Horsdal as Mrs. Lansing, David S. Jung as Tom Yang, with Wendi McLendon-Covey as Alyssa Yang, and Margaret Cho as Ms. Chen.
