Shrinking Teaser Trailer and Premiere Date Released by Apple TV+
Apple TV+ unites Jason Segel and Harrison Ford in its latest comedy series, Shrinking.
The 10-episode season “follows a grieving therapist who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives…including his own.”
Shrinking will have a two-episode, global series premiere on Friday, January 27, on Apple TV+. One new episode will drop weekly, every Friday, afterward.
Per Apple TV+, Segel stars as the grieving therapist, and Ford joins the series in “one of his first major television roles.”
Earlier this year, Paramount+ shared that Ford will star alongside Helen Mirren in 1923, the next chapter of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone origin story. It premieres Sunday, December 18, on Paramount+.
Alongside Segel and Ford, Shrinking also stars Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Michael Urie, Luke Tennie, and Lukita Maxwell.
The teaser trailer shows the cast — all but Ford’s character — jumping on a trampoline to the sound of Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness.”
The Apple TV+ series was written by Emmy Award-winning Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence, Emmy Award-winning Ted Lasso star, writer, and co-executive producer Brett Goldstein, and Segel. The trio created the series and wrote the first episode, which James Ponsoldt directed.
Shrinking marks the second collaboration between Apple TV+ and Segel — the first being his role in the Apple Original film, The Sky Is Everywhere, which premiered in February 2022.
The comedy marks the third partnership for Apple, Lawrence, and Warner Bros. Television, joining Ted Lasso and the upcoming drama series Bad Monkey.
Shrinking is produced by Warner Bros. Television, where Lawrence is under an overall deal, and Lawrence’s Doozer Productions. Lawrence, Segel, Goldstein, Neil Goldman, James Ponsoldt, Randall Winston, Jeff Ingold, and Liza Katzer serve as executive producers.
