Bel Priestley, Ash Self, and Thibault de Montalember Join ‘Heartstopper’ Season 2 at Netflix
Heartstopper‘s cast grows once more with the additions of Bel Priestly, Ash Self, and Thibault de Montalember as Season 2 continues production in the UK.
Deadline exclusively reported the casting news, sharing that Call My Agent!‘s Thibault de Montalember will appear on the coming-of-age series as Nick Nelson’s father. Kit Connor portrays Nick.
The report includes that Olivia Colman will continue to star as Nick’s mother, Sarah. Colman’s casting was a surprise for Heartstopper fans. Netflix kept her casting under wraps until the debut season dropped on the streaming service in April 2022.
Netflix’s TUDUM shares that Bel Priestley joins Heartstopper as Naomi and Ash Self as Felix — new friends of Elle.
Alongside Colman, Chetna Pandya, Fisayo Akinade, and Alan Turkington are also returning for the Netflix show’s sophomore season.
This casting update comes after another announcement in September, adding Leila Khan, Jack Barton, Nima Taleghani, and Bradley Riches to the ensemble.
All of the new cast members join Heartstopper‘s lead cast of Kit Connor, Joe Locke, Yasmin Finney, William Gao, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Sebastian Croft, Tobie Donovan, Rhea Norwood, Cormac Hyde-Corrin and Jenny Walser.
Heartstopper is an adaptation of Alice Oseman’s graphic novels of the same name. The show follows gentle Charlie and rugby-loving Nick when they meet in high school.
Their unlikely friendship gradually blossoms into something more — an unexpected romance. The series has been such a success for Netlfix that in April 2022, the streaming service renewed Heartstopper for a second and third season.

As reported by BBC in May, Yasmin Fenney is joining Doctor Who, “playing the character of Rose and is filming scenes that are due to air in 2023 to coincide with the show’s 60th anniversary.”
Per Deadline, Kit Connor will star with Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin‘s Maia Reficco and La Reina del Sur‘s Kate del Castillo in the Ace Entertainment-produced A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow. It’s a film based on the novel by Laura Taylor Namey.
Even more recently, Marvel Studios announced through Variety that Joe Locke would join Kathryn Hahn in the WandaVision spin-off series Agatha: Coven of Chaos. As for Heartstopper, Season 2 does not have a premiere date yet.
