What to Watch on TV: Vampire Academy, Acapulco, One Of Us Is Lying
Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of October 16th! We’ll be sharing our picks for what to watch this week, from marathons to big guest spots, and significant episodes of TV to look forward to.
This week’s picks include a new entry of The Vow, a special crossover in The Rookie-verse, the return of Miss Scarlet and The Duke, and more.

Miss Scarlet and The Duke – Sunday, October 16

Eliza and William are back with a new set of cases, escalated competition between the pair, and (not so) subtle flirty banter. Miss Scarlet and The Duke returns Sunday, October 16 at 8/7c on PBS.

The Rookie / The Rookie: Feds – Sunday, October 16
It’s time for a crossover in The Rookie-verse! The Rookie kicks off the crossover event on ABC on Sunday, October 16 at 10/9c. The hunt then continues with part two of the crossover airing on The Rookie: Feds on Tuesday, October 18 at 10/9c on ABC.

The Vow: Part Two – Monday, October 17

Amid the federal trial and its aftermath, the story continues with one of the inner circle members: Nancy Salzman. The Vow: Part Two returns Monday, October 17 at 9/8c on HBO.
Episode Description: Prosecutor Moira Penza and defense attorney Marc Agnifilo prepare for trial after the arrest of Keith Raniere, Nancy Salzman, Clare Bronfman, Allison Mack and Lauren Salzman. DOS members Nicki Clyne and Michele Hatchette offer a different perspective into NXIVM, DOS, and Raniere, while Nancy Salzman, under house arrest, sits down to speak with the filmmakers.
Mama’s Boy – Tuesday, October 18

The Oscar-winning screenwriter, Dustin Lance Black, reflects on his upbringing, familial relationships, and more. Mama’s Boy debuts Tuesday, October 18 at 9/8c on HBO.
Special Description: Mama’s Boy centers around the upbringing of the Academy Award®-winning screenwriter of “Milk,” Dustin Lance Black. Traveling back to the places where he grew up, Black explores his childhood roots, gay identity and close relationship with his mother, who overcame childhood polio, abusive marriages and Mormon dogma, while becoming Black’s emotional rock and ultimately, the inspiration for his activism.
The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks – Wednesday, October 19

Based on the biography by the same name comes a documentary that goes beyond one of the most recognized moments of Rosa Parks’ life, chronicling the depth and intent behind the activist’s choices and her politics. The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks debuts Wednesday, October 19 on Peacock.
Documentary Description: The unexpected story of Parks and her life beyond the historic bus boycott, revealing the intent behind her activism, her radical politics and her courage.
Documentary Now! – Wednesday, October 19
The revered and hilarious mockumentary series is back and ready to tell stories drawn from vaguely familiar tales. Documentary Now! returns Wednesday, October 19 at 11/10c on IFC.
Episode Description: In the early 1980s, a visionary German filmmaker tries to will his magnum opus into existence while working in the remote, punishing conditions of the Russian Ular mountains.
The School for Good and Evil – Wednesday, October 19

Sophia Anne Caruso and Sofia Wylie star in the latest adaptation of the international best-selling novel about a pair of best friends in the village of Gavaldon. When they are swept up in a world filled with fairytale offspring, witches, and royalty, they find themselves on a journey to make things right. The School for Good and Evil makes its debut Wednesday, October 19 on Netflix.

It’s the penultimate episode as Rose, Vasilisa, and company must get to the truth behind the Strigoi attacks and stop the looming threat. Vampire Academy’s latest episode drops Thursday, October 20 on Peacock.
One Of Us Is Lying Season 2 – Thursday, October 20
In the aftermath of the first season’s events, fans will find out exactly how far the Bayview Four are willing to go to protect themselves. One Of Us Is Lying Season 2 premieres Thursday, October 20 on Peacock.
Season Description: Following the heart-pounding conclusion of Season One, the Bayview Four have a very deadly secret. In Season Two we’ll see just how far they’ll go to protect their secret, themselves, and each other.
Grey’s Anatomy – Thursday, October 20
Kate Walsh is set to make her return to Grey-Sloan Memorial this week. With Addison back in the building, there will be no doubt plenty of great moments to come, especially when the topic of sex education is involved. Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursday, October 20 at 9/8c on ABC.
Episode Description: Bailey recruits the interns to create a series of social media videos informing teens about sexual health; Meredith and Maggie learn something new about Zola.
Acapulco Season 2 – Friday, October 21

A new season filled with shenanigans and wild times await the residents of this Mexican resort. Acapulco Season 2 premieres Friday, October 21 on Apple TV+.
Series Description: Acapulco tells the story of twenty-something Máximo Gallardo (Enrique Arrizon), whose dream comes true when he gets the job of a lifetime as a cabana boy at the hottest resort in Acapulco. He soon realizes the job is far more complicated than he ever imagined and in order to succeed, he must learn to navigate a demanding clientele, a mercurial mentor, and a complicated home life, without losing his way to shortcuts or temptations.
The Peripheral – Friday, October 21

Chloe Grace Moretz stars in this new sci-fi series that sees her trying to make more money to help their ailing mother and brother but soon finds her in much bigger trouble than anticipated. The Peripheral debuts with one episode on Friday, October 21 on Prime Video.
Series Description: Flynne Fisher (Chloe Grace Moretz), her Marine veteran brother, Burton (Jack Reynor), and their dying mother live in a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains in 2032. As their mother’s health deteriorates and the medical bills add up, Flynne and Burton make extra money playing simulations (Sims). The two siblings share Burton’s avatar, “jockeying” for high-paying customers to beat challenging game levels. When Burton is offered a chance to beta test a new Sim, it’s Flynne who ends up playing, pretending to be her brother. The Sim takes place in London and it tasks Flynne with breaking into a corporation known as the Research Institute—to steal a valuable secret. When the assignment goes badly wrong, Flynne begins to realize the Sim is more real than she ever could have imagined. The London she’s exploring exists in the future…year 2099.
