Preview — House of the Dragon Season 1 Episode 9: The Green Council
Viserys’ death causes an uproar in King’s Landing on House of the Dragon Season 1 Episode 9, “The Green Council.”
In what she believes to be Viserys’ dying wish, Alicent is strategically planning for Aegon’s succession. Thanks to the promo video below, we know “The Green Council” will center around who should sit on the Iron Throne.
The penultimate episode of Season 1 will have many different layers interwoven within it as The Hightowers contemplate their next moves. Otto will push Aegon or Alicent to sit on the throne and keep their family in power, but it won’t be as easy as he believes.
According to the promo video, some council members are still loyal to Viserys’ wishes that Rhaenyra would succeed him. It’ll be interesting to see the dynamics at play, how Alicent executes her decisions, and how the news will be broken to Rhaenyra.
No matter the outcome, “The Green Council” is bound to be a rousing hour full of pivotal moments and thrilling battles of wit.
