FBI, News

FBI Season 5 will switch up its schedule come November on CBS, airing an episode on Sunday instead of its usual Tuesday timeslot.

Per TV Line’s exclusive report, Election Night coverage on Tuesday, November 8, means that one of FBI’s Season 5 episodes will now air on Tuesday, November 6.

FBI‘s spinoffs, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted, will be preempted on November 8, but unlike the original series, they will not air new episodes that week.

TV Insider notes that FBI will air a new episode that week because of a previous scheduling shift on CBS. The previously postponed Season 4 finale recently premiered within its fifth season, meaning FBI has an extra Season 5 episode to air.

FBI‘s Season 5 episode, airing on that Sunday, is titled “Double Blind,” according to TV Line. It follows the team as they work to rescue a 5-year-old kidnapping victim.

John Boyd’s Scola has suspicions about how much the boy’s mother may be holding back about why her son was targeted. Meanwhile, Shantel VanSanten’s Nina struggles to open up to Scola about matters in their relationship.

FBI fans will know that VanSanten was promoted to recurring status in April this year, which TV Line exclusively reported. Her return as Nina Chase came on the heels of a shake-up for Maggie, played by Missy Peregrym.

Maggie needed to recover from residual nerve damage after the sarin gas crisis on FBI Season 4 Episode 18, “Fear Nothing.” Nina returned on FBI Season 4 Episode 19, “Face Off,” to step in as a temporary member of Jubal’s team.

Maggie recovered off-camera to accommodate Missy Peregrym’s maternity leave. FBI‘s showrunner Rick Eid told Variety in September that Peregrym was back on set and filming.

While there is no word about when Peregrym’s return will be seen on-screen, TV Line does have some details about the CBS drama’s upcoming Sunday outing.
