Fear Nothing FBI Review: Fear Nothing (Season 4 Episode 18)

FBI Review: Fear Nothing (Season 4 Episode 18)

FBI, Reviews

The stakes are at an all-time high on FBI Season 4 Episode 18, “Fear Nothing,” as OA comes face to face with his biggest fears — sarin gas and losing Maggie.

Zeeko Zaki and Missy Peregrym help propel this episode to become the best of Season 4 so far, with performances worthy of much more than a procedural show.

The case at the center of this episode is heartbreaking: a man’s children were killed in an American airstrike on Syria, and he wants revenge.

Something FBI does very well, despite never taking a side too obviously, is showing both sides of the story. On the one hand, random airstrikes on Syria, like this one, are highly unnecessary.

But, on the other, killing random innocent people won’t bring your family back.

Very few people know what it’s like to be in that man’s position. Furthermore, what it is like when you’ve lost everything or, as paralleled through OA when you’re about to lose everything.

“Fear Nothing” takes Maggie and OA and places them in the forefront, which is one thing FBI is best at.

The connection between Maggie and OA, the comfortability, and the understanding between them is so special and unspoken that when it is spoken, it’s hard not to look deeper into their relationship.

This episode floors me as a #1 fan of Maggie and OA being in a romantic relationship.

Not only do we get to see them chatting over coffee at the beginning of the episode, but we also get several heartfelt moments following that, including Maggie reaching for him as she passes out and OA’s beautiful words to her in the hospital bed.

While you could chalk most of their interactions up to being in a partnership, and I think meaningful partnerships between a woman and a man are incredibly important, why would you when the opportunity for more is there?

Given they are discussing Tinder and Maggie getting out there again at the beginning of the episode, OA’s speech at the end could easily be twisted romantically.

Between the chemistry Zeeko Zaki and Missy Peregrym share and the apparent care and love between their respective characters, why not allow them to be together?

Since Maggie will be back once Peregrym’s maternity leave is over, it’s the perfect time to at least test the waters and see what comes of it.

All in all, “Fear Nothing” is an excellent episode of television, allowing FBI‘s star actors to flourish with a script meant to do so flawlessly.

The dip in their speech, the angst on their faces, and how the characters seamlessly move from possible danger to tragedy show how perfect Zeeko Zaki and Missy Peregrym are for their roles as OA and Maggie.

Stray Thoughts:
  • Outside of his speech, OA being willing to head into that room with no protective gear at all whatsoever is one of the most emotional, heartfelt parts of the episode. He wants to make sure that she is okay.
  • I hope we get to see the fallout from this fall onto Isobel as well as OA, as she’ll surely be blaming herself for allowing them to go into the building without backup.
  • OA saying, “I can’t do this without you. I won’t do this without you,” will haunt me for the rest of eternity.
