‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’ Trailer and Premiere Date Released by HBO
Are you ready to jump through time with Rose Leslie and Theo James on HBO’s The Time Traveler’s Wife?
After releasing an official teaser a little over a month ago, the first trailer is here, and it is packed with all the emotional side effects of being a time traveler’s wife.
The Time Traveler’s Wife is “an intricate and magical love story” that many know since Steven Moffat adapted it from the much-loved 2003 novel by Audrey Niffenegger.

If this premise sounds familiar, it is likely because this is the second time Niffenegger’s book has been adapted for the screen. The first was for the big screen in 2009 in a film directed by Robert Schwentke and starring Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams as the titular couple.
Steven Moffat is no stranger to stories that span space and time since he was the head writer and executive producer of Doctor Who from Season 5 in 2010 to Season 10 in 2016.
The Time Traveler’s Wife is directed by David Nutter, known for his work on Game of Thrones, in which Leslie also starred on as Ygritte. The time-bending series will tell “the story of Clare and Henry, and a marriage with a problem… time travel.”

The trailer shows Clare and Henry giving video testimonials about their complicated relationship, which become voiceovers to flashes of their romance over the years.
Henry cites his survival skills of running, fighting, and stealing, while Clare clings to what she can to keep her love alive even when Henry disappears right in front of her.
The trailer ends with a poignant quote from Clare: “Why is love intensified by absence?” If any series can delve into the phenomenon of absence making the heart grow fonder, it’s HBO’s The Time Traveler’s Wife.

The six-episode drama debuts Sunday, May 15 on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
It stars the aforementioned Rose Leslie and Theo James as Clare Abshire and Henry DeTamble. Desmin Borges (You’re the Worst) and Natasha Lopez also star as Gomez and Charisse.
The Time Traveler’s Wife is an HBO and Warner Bros. Television production and is executive produced by writer Steven Moffat, David Nutter; Sue Vertue, and Brian Minchin through Hartswood Films; and Joseph E. Iberti.
