‘Hacks’ Season 2 Teaser and Premiere Date Released by HBO Max

News

Deborah Vance and Ava are back and hitting the road in the first teaser for Hacks Season 2!

The dynamic duo is going on tour to workshop Deborah’s new stand-up act. As the teaser below shows, this tour will be filled with the right kind of chaos.

Deborah and Ava aren’t immune to an argument or two, and that’s on display in the teaser when Deborah throws objects at Ava’s head. The lack of context for that fight raises whether the truth behind Ava’s cliffhanger-worthy email in the Season 1 finale will reveal itself.

Nevertheless, the Hacks teaser has plenty of glimpses into Deborah and Ava’s life on the road, including nights at bars and boxing matches. These women have range, and Hacks celebrates that!

The teaser pulls all of those sets together by setting it to the tune of “Make Your Own Kind of Music.” Because, of course, if anyone is going to make her own music, it’s Deborah Vance. She’ll certainly encourage Ava to do the same.

Jean Smart’s impeccable work as the stand-up comedian earned her an Emmy, SAG Awards, and Critics Choice Awards win for her performance in Season 1 of the comedy.

Alongside Smart and Hannah Einbinder, who plays the talented writer Ava, Season 2 will also include some new characters — a few of which are briefly visible in the teaser.

HBO Max previously announced Laurie Metcalf, Martha Kelly, Ming-Na Wen, and Margaret Cho would recur as guest stars for the highly anticipated second season.

The award-winning and critically-acclaimed comedy series debuts its second season Thursday, May 12, with a two-episode premiere. Then, the eight-episode season will roll out with two new episodes every week on HBO Max. The finale will drop on the streaming service on June 2.
