Emmys 2026: Winners Include Widow’s Bay, The Pitt, and DTF St. Louis

The 78th Emmy® Awards, hosted by the iconic Mariska Hargitay, was a night filled with memorable moments, special reunions, and even some tears. Widow’s Bay, The Pitt, DTF St. Louis, The Traitors, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert were the winning TV series in their categories.

There was also plenty of history to be made, from Hargitay being the first woman to host the ceremony in 15 years, to Matthew Rhys becoming the first person to win the award for Lead Actor in two different categories on the same night. 

For the fifth time in a row, Jean Smart won the award for Lead Actress in a Comedy for her role on Hacks.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz were reunited to present the award for Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

Their speech also threw some shade about the scrapped Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, with Boreanaz saying he always thought Buffy and Angel would end up together, and Gellar responding, “Well, I guess we won’t find out.”

Macaulay Culkin, Annie Murphy, and Dan Levy paid special tribute to their on-screen mother, Catherine O’Hara, to kick off the in-memoriam segment. The segment, which featured music from Noah Kahan, ended with Jamie Lee Curtis paying tribute to the legendary Rob Reiner.

In another notable segment, The Bob Hope Humanitarian Award was presented to Michael J. Fox.
