‘A League of Their Own’ Trailer Released by Prime Video
The Rockford Peaches come together to take big swings in the first full-length trailer for Prime Video’s A League of Their Own.
The highly-anticipated series, based on the original 1992 film of the same name, debuts its eight-episode season Friday, August 12. Jamie Babbit, who serves as an executive producer, directed the pilot.

Though A League of Their Own has plenty of nods to the original film it takes inspiration from, this Prime Video show features “ew characters and their unique journeys through a fresh reimagining of its predecessor.”
As previously reported, its initial teaser trailer showcased how this series would expand upon the concepts Penny Marshall’s beloved film presented. The Prime Video series is based on the motion picture screenplay by Lowell Ganz & Babaloo Mandel and a story by Kim Wilson and Kelly Candaele.
Per A League of Their Own‘s logline, “The show takes a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters as they carve their own paths towards the field, both in the league and outside of it.”
Subsequently, the full-length trailer sees the Rockford Peaches band together on the baseball field and off of it against forces like sexism and racism.

The Rockford Peaches combat rules like no smoking, no drinking, and no pants with rebellion. The women, who dream of playing professional baseball, are up against a lot, but that won’t stop them from stepping up to the plate.
A League of Their Own follows Abbi Jacobson’s Carson and Chanté Adams’ Max “and a new ensemble of sharp and hilarious characters as they carve their paths toward the field, along the way finding their teams and themselves.”
That ensemble also includes Parks and Recreation‘s Nick Offerman as Dove. In the trailer, Dove contributes to the sexism the women face by saying, “You want the game to be more exciting, shorten the skirts.”
Nevertheless, the trailer’s most striking moments come from the women at A League of Their Own‘s heart, like Max catching a baseball with her bare hand.

There’s also the romantic tension between Carson and The Good Place‘s D’Arcy Carden as Greta while they share drinks they’re not supposed to be drinking.
Plus, Carson delivers the memorable line, “They don’t get to decide if this is real or not — we do.” So, undoubtedly, The Rockford Peaches will make their own way on A League of Their Own.
The Prime Video also stars Gbemisola Ikumelo as Clance, Roberta Colindrez as Lupe, Saidah Arrika Ekulona as Toni, Kate Berlant as Shirley, Kendall Johnson as Gary, Kelly McCormack as Jess, Alex Désert as Edgar, Priscilla Delgado as Esti, Aaron Jennings as Guy, Molly Ephraim as Maybelle, Melanie Field as Jo, and Dale Dickey as Beverly.
A League of Their Own is from Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television, in association with Field Trip Productions. The series is co-created and executive produced by Will Graham and Abbi Jacobson. Field Trip’s Hailey Wierengo and Desta Tedros Reff also serve as executive producers.
