The world of The Boys expands to include a new generation in the college-based spinoff Gen V, coming to Prime Video.

The streaming service unveiled the title of the series with a social media announcement featuring the Gen V cast. The video confirms the spinoff is currently in production while the cast teases what to expect.

Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina fans will quickly notice that Gen V marks an on-screen reunion for Jaz Sinclar and Chance Perdomo, who played Rosalind Walker and Ambrose Spellman, respectively, on the Netflix drama.

In the video, Sinclair states that Gen V has “love and beautiful relationships, and tons of action and superheroes.” Maddie Phillips adds, “With lots of hormones and drama and mystery.”

That combination is to be expected since, per the description, “Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities.”

Prime Video shares that Gen V is “set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International).” That corrupt organization known for “managing” Supes is the clearest — so far — tie the spinoff has to The Boys.

The Boys, which recently concluded its third season, has already been renewed for Season 4.

Lizze Broadway shared that Gen V is “gonna be a rollercoaster.” Naturally, Asa Germann reassured The Boys fans that the spinoff would feel like its predecessor.

According to Germann, Gen V has “the intensity, the grit, [and] the humor” The Boys viewers are used to by now.

Prime Video describes the spinoff series as “part college show, part Hunger Games—with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.” Though short and sweet, that specific grouping of words says a lot about what Gen V will deliver.

London Thor summed it at best to close out the announcement video: “Superheroes, college. What could go wrong?”

Not to mention, Gen V‘s showrunners and executive producers are knowledgeable about how best to bring an epic superhero story to the small screen.

Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, the showrunners of Marvel’s Agent Carter, are at the helm of The Boys‘ spinoff. Gen V does not have a premiere date yet.

Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, and Michaela Starr also serve as executive producers on Gen V, and Brant Engelstein serves as co-executive producer.

The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television Studios and Amazon Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film. Loreli Alanís serves as executive in charge for Point Grey Pictures.
