Prime Video Renews ‘The Boys’ For Season 4

Prime Video has announced that The Boys will be back for a fourth season!

This is exciting but not totally unexpected news, as the series continues to be a huge success for the streamer. Still, it’s always nice to avoid the renewal waiting game.

Eric Kripke, the showrunner for the series, commented, “Speaking for the cast and crew, we’re so grateful to Sony, Amazon, and most of all the fans for embracing the show and allowing us to make more. We’re thrilled to continue Butcher and the Boys’ fight against Homelander and the Seven, as well as comment on the insane world we’re living in. Also, this is the first time in history that exploding genitalia has led to further success.”

The head of global television at Amazon Studios, Vernon Sanders made a statement as well:

“From our first conversation with Eric Kripke and the creative team about Season Three of The Boys, we knew the show was continuing to get even bolder — an impressive feat considering the wild success of the Emmy-nominated second season. The Boys continues to push boundaries in storytelling while also being relentlessly entertaining and threading the needle on social satire that feels all too real. This stylized world of the series has incredible global reach and the viewership for opening weekend is proof of that. We are immensely proud of the cast and crew that has spawned a franchise for Prime Video, and we look forward to bringing more of The Boys to our customers.”

The Boys Season 3 is currently airing with the season finale set to premiere on July 8.

This season features Hughie, Butcher, and the Boys working for the Federal Bureau of Superhuman affairs, which Victoria Neuman leads. As we all remember from Season 2, Neuman is secretly a supe and her power is causing people’s heads to explode, meaning the Boys are in even more danger than they realize.

Meanwhile, Homelander is struggling to maintain his power within the Seven, as well as his sanity, making him even more unstable than normal. He needs to be taken out quickly before he completely loses it. The Boys do have a lead — they believe that the death of Soldier Boy may hold the key to defeating Homelander.
