Nick Wechsler on Joining the Cast of ‘The Boys’ for Season 3 [Interview]

ATX Television Festival, Interviews, The Boys

Nick Wechsler’s latest role on The Boys is unlike anything you’ve seen him in before.

Wechsler joins the cast for The Boys Season 3 as Blue Hawk, a supe that we first get a glimpse of on the third episode of the season.

We caught up with Wechsler on the red carpet during the ATX Television Festival to discuss his role on the show and why it was such a fun character for him to be able to play. (You can watch the full video below.)

“Even the audition was one of my favorite things I’ve ever done,” Wechsler began.

“He’s not a nice man, but that being said, he’s still probably in some ways the most like me — not that I’m a bad guy — but that friends of mine who would hang out with me would probably be like, this is a side of Nick, it’s a larger piece of him than the constantly good ‘good guy.'”

“This is a kind of character that my buddies and I would come up with when we’re riffing. So it was fun to be that loose and get a chance to be funny, hopefully.”

Wechsler also said he feels lucky to be involved in the show because of the current, topical issues being addressed.

“I just admire it so much. It’s still in this darkly funny package, but also what they’re addressing is serious shit.”

New episodes of The Boys stream Fridays on Prime Video.
