
‘Bridgerton’ Beats Its Own Streaming Record, Takes the Number 1 Spot
It is with immense pleasure that this author reports the news buzzing around the Ton: Bridgerton has broken its own record.
Netflix announced Tuesday that the soapy period drama has managed to amass approximately 627.11 million hours of the season viewed since its premiere. By topping the Top 10 list for the fourth week in a row with 66.61 million hours viewed, Bridgerton is now the most popular English language series of all time.
The period drama’s inaugural season now falls to second place with just over 625 million hours viewed within the first 28 days of release, making it the first series to hold both top spots on the list.
Bridgerton Season 2, Anthony’s (Jonathan Bailey) quest to find a wife and sets his sights on the Diamond of the season, Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran). His mission hits a snag when he comes up against the formidable Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), Edwina’s older sister and confidante.

The eight-episode season, which further deviated from the second book in the series, The Viscount Who Loved Me, brought in fresh faces to stir things up within the notable Bridgerton and Featherington families, culminating in explosive reveals, heartbreak, and of course, plenty of scandals.
Rounding out the Top 5 for the week of April 11th are Netflix’s latest reality series The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On with just over 58 million hours viewed, limited series based on the novel of the same name Anatomy of a Scandal with 40.28 million hours viewed, Bridgerton Season 1, and President Obama’s ode to nature Our Great National Parks.

Bridgerton, which has already been renewed for a third and fourth season, sadly has not begun production on a new season, season 2 is currently streaming on Netflix.
