Dreams turn to nightmares on Supergirl Season 6 Episode 16, “Nightmare in National City.”

Somehow, the team behind this show must have known its final season would wrap up during Spooky Season because it sounds like this episode will be ominous.

“Nightmare in National City” centers around Nyxly and the Super Friends’ race to the next Totem. Coincidentally, the Dream Totem is the only thing capable of stopping the nightmare monster from wreaking more havoc on National City.

Brainy mentioned on Supergirl Season 6 Episode 15, “Hope for Tomorrow,” that Nia is doing her best to find it. Hopefully, this means the show will find a way to turn back time or catch up with Nia’s journey in a believable way.

The fact that Nia will need her sister’s help, teeing up a confrontation between the sisters who haven’t seen each other in years, bodes well that a good portion of “Nightmare in National City” will be dedicated to Nia’s narrative.

Back in National City, Kara struggles with a difficult decision: Can she carry on the mantle of Supergirl and still be a reporter at CatCo? If the previous episodes are any indication, Kara should have asked herself this a long time ago.

Check out the photos and promo video below for a preview!

Episode description: Kara lands her dream story for Catco but when the city is suddenly attacked by a nightmare monster at the same time as her interview, she is forced to take a serious look at her life and decide if she can continue to live as both Kara and Supergirl.

As Dreamer takes the lead on the search for the Dream Totem, which can vanquish the nightmare monster in National City, she realizes she needs to ask her sister Mauve for help. Old wounds resurface as the two sisters come face to face. The episode was directed by Eric Dean Seaton written by Rob Wright and Jess Kardos.
