What to Expect from The Way Home Season 4 Episode 10: The Landrys Make Their Last Leap
After four seasons in Port Haven, we’ve reached the end of the line for The Way Home. The series is set to end its run with its Season 4 finale, The Way Home Season 4 Episode 10, “Ahead by a Century.”
Judging by the way the series left things on its penultimate episode, The Way Home Season 4 Episode 10, “Auld Lang Syne,” the finale looks to be a doozy, too.
The big cliffhanger, of course, is that Tessa accidentally shoots Elliot after she is caught trying to do one final job to get Al Capone off her crew’s back before she goes home.
It’s probably a safe bet to assume Elliot will survive, but it sure does turn things upside down at the last minute. It also explains why, in the 70s, the older version of Fern hates the woman she idolized so much when she was young.
On “Auld Lang Syne,’ right before we see Tessa shoot Elliot, Fern explodes at very confused young Tessa that she ends up killing her son.
The timing of Fern’s outburst isn’t great, though. We also learn on “Auld Lang Syne” that Tessa is clearly suffering from post-pardom depression, something not really understood in the 70s.
Given that Tessa had just recently had an incident that put both Lewis and Elliot in danger, she no doubt thought Fern meant she was a bad mother for those reasons.
You have to wonder if that guilt is part of what leads Tessa to jump with Griffin. Especially given her answer to Elliot when he asked why she left was that she thought she was doing the right thing.
There is still so much to unpack before the series wraps. We haven’t even gotten to Del and Alice’s romantic relationships, Alice’s future, Jacob’s new romance, Casey’s identity, or what happens to Cliff that makes Fern so pessimistic about the Landry’s fate when it comes to love.
Luckily, the final episode is an extended episode, because it’s hard to imagine fitting all that into 40 minutes.
