What to Expect from The Way Home Season 4 Episode 2: Blinded by the Light

Previews, The Way Home

Kat finds herself in the Roaring 20s on The Way Home Season 4 Episode 2, “Blinded by the Light.”

The Way Home Season 4 premiere, The Way Home Season 4 Episode 1, “Show Me the Way to go Home,” was a bit of a full circle. It started by picking up where the Season 3 finale left off, with the revelation about Elliot and his mother.

Initially, Elliot seems as eager as anyone for answers. However, new information about his mother’s disappearance brings up feelings of abandonment and anger. When those get to be too much, he quickly puts the kibosh on any further investigation.

That is, of course, something Kat ignores. Still, she keeps her own inquiries low-key, so no one finds out about them. Aside from Kat’s small-scale effort, the mystery of Elliot’s mom and her jump into the pond is put aside for seven months.

But new revelations then change everyone’s calculations. First, Alice sees Kat in a clip from a 1920s film with a young Fern, proving that Kat uses the pond in the future.

Then they discover a suitcase full of Stephanie’s things. That, along with other new details, complicates what Elliot thinks he knows about his mom’s disappearance. More than that, it connects Fern’s odd message to Kat in the 70s to Elliot’s mom.

With all that new information, Elliot gets back on board with looking for answers about his mom. He, Kat, and Alice all try to jump back to the 20s to find his mom. But as is often the case with the pond, things don’t go as planned.

The pond doesn’t let Elliot jump at all. And instead of sending both Alice and Kat back to the 20s, only Kat makes it there, where a young Fern greets her. Alice, meanwhile, is sent back to the 70s, where an older Fern greets her.

“Blinded by the Light” picks things up from there. While Kat tries to get answers in the 1920s, Alice investigates in the 70s.

Based on the episode promo, it also appears that Del and Colton know no more about Stephanie’s disappearance than they let on. It’s a secret that Colton adamantly believes they should keep, but it seems to eat away at Del.

That’s an important detail to know, since while Kat and Alice are investigating in the past, Del, tries to help Elliot deal with all his different emotions in the present.
