Kara and Kelly team up on Supergirl Season 6 Episode 9, “Dream Weaver.” This episode is likely the one that lays the groundwork for Kelly picking up the mantle of Guardian.
Azie Tesfai’s Kelly Olsen is a vital member of the Super Friends, and “Dream Weaver” sounds like it’ll be a great way to remind people of that.
Kelly’s heart is always 100% in what she does, and “Dream Weaver” is no different. Kelly helps a young boy who exists within one corrupt system, who is worried about his brother who is in another corrupt system.
The Super Friends deal with extraterrestrial, world-ending problems (like the bomb in the trailer below). They also help when the systems fail people.
Kelly and Kara’s team up starting as the investigative kind also lends itself to the important narrative that anyone can be a hero by uncovering the truth and fighting for what’s right.
Through it all, it’s nice to know Dansen is going strong. As they should be!
Meanwhile, we could see Nia’s mom again in “Dream Weaver,” according to the trailer. The title suggests that we’ll learn even more about Nia’s powers as her dreams are interrupted by Nyxly.
Check out the photos and promo video below for a preview!
Episode description: Kelly meets Joey (guest star Aiden Stoxx), a young orphaned alien boy, who is acting out in foster care because he fears there is something wrong with his brother Orlando (guest star Jhaleil Swaby), who is incarcerated. Kelly asks Kara to help her investigate and they stumble upon abuse at the prison.
Meanwhile, Nyxly crashes one of Nia’s dreams and asks her for help. The episode was directed by Shannon Kohli and written by Karen E. Maser & Emilio Ortega Aldrich.

Kelly is one of the weakest link on the show and they truly are just wasting time on this character. I am glad that they keep ‘telling’ us that Alex is now happy, but honestly we don’t care enough about Kelly, Second Guardian, or the invisible chemistry between Dansen to warrant whole episodes. This is a misfire on a misfiring season.
