What to Expect from The Way Home Season 4 Episode 3: Dust in the Wind

Previews, The Way Home

While Kat and Elliot try to have a romantic evening, Elliot’s father, Vic, makes a surprise visit with some questions for Del on The Way Home Season 4 Episode 2, “Dust in the Wind.”

The Way Home Season 4 Episode 2, “Blinded by the Light,” was eventful, if not particularly fruitful, in terms of the search for Elliot’s mother. Or so it seemed initially.

It seemed at first that the biggest reveal from the episode was going to be the introduction of Colton’s brother, Griffin. More importantly, although not necessarily surprisingly, Del believed he was the one who jumped into the pond with Elliot’s mom.

That is a pretty significant development that fills in some possible blanks about the night Tessa left. It, however, offers few clues about where she might have gone.

It seemed like Kat and Alice’s visits to the past were mostly a bust on that front, except for one little detail right before Kat jumped back to the present. Before she leaves, she tells Fern Tessa’s maiden name, and there is a flicker of recognition. Kat missed it, but most viewers likely didn’t.

On “Dust in the Wind,” Kat gets clued in to what viewers already at least suspect. After seeing a picture of a bracelet that connects Fern to Tessa, Kat realizes that Fern must have known Tessa and lied to her for some reason.

That will send Kat back to the 20s to confront Fern, but will Fern be any more forthcoming with information when Kat presses her on her lie?

If not, it looks as though Alice will make some progress back in the 70s as well. According to the promo, Alice finally formally meets Elliot’s mom. The version of Tessa that Alice meets hasn’t time-traveled or abandoned Elliot yet. Still, you don’t get much of a bigger lead than meeting the subject of an investigation itself.

Meanwhile, in the present, Elliot’s father, Vic, makes a surprise visit, demanding that Del tell him what he told Elliot about his mother. It seems unlikely that Vic will be able to offer any information about Tessa’s time travel.

He can, however, offer some additional insight about his relationship with Tessa and what role he thinks Griffin played in it.
