NBC Cancels ‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’
The music has stopped for one of TV’s most unique shows. Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist has been canceled by NBC after two seasons.
The series starred Jane Levy as Zoey, a young woman who can hear people’s deepest thoughts through song. It co-starred Skylar Astin, Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart, Andrew Leeds, Alice Lee, Michael Thomas Grant, Kapil Talwalkar, and Mary Steenburgen.
Deadline reports, Lionsgate is still shopping the series to other networks, as it previously did when ABC canceled Nashville, which then finished its run on CMT.
“In a world where finding loyal and passionate audiences is never easy, we believe there must be a home for this great, award-winning show with a passionate and dedicated following,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
Season 2 ended on a surprising cliffhanger, as Skylar Astin’s Max developed a big character twist.
Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist is streaming on Peacock.

‘She-Hulk’ Adds Jameela Jamil as Supervillain
Marvel’s Disney+ She-Hulk series has found one of its major big bads. According to TVLine, Jameela Jamil will play Titania.
Titania is a longtime nemesis of She-Hulk. After She-Hulk handed Titania her first defeat as a supervillain, she became obsessed with beating the superhero.
As usual, Marvel has no confirmation of the report, as the studio makes official announcements on its own time.
She-Hulk is set to star Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk, with Mark Ruffalo appearing as her cousin Bruce Banner. They will be joined by Renee Elise Goldsberry, Ginger Gonzaga, and Tim Roth reprising Emil Blonsky/The Abomination from The Incredible Hulk.
Jamil can currently be seen as the host of TBS’ The Misery Index and on HBO Max’s Legendary.

‘Shadow & Bone’ Renewed for Season 2
Netflix continues to build its lineup of popular fantasy series. Its latest hit Shadow & Bone has been renewed for Season 2, per TVLine.
Based on Leigh Bardugo’s novels, the drama follows Alina as she discovers she can summon light. Shadow & Bone Season 1 ended with Alina using her powers to lead everyone out of the Fold, while Kirigan and his army also escaped.
“I’m honored and thrilled to return to the Grishaverse,” showrunner Eric Heisserer said in a statement, “and continue the stories of these endearing characters, particularly Milo.”
Shadow & Bone is now streaming on Netflix.

Taraji P. Henson is Miss Hannigan in ‘Annie Live!’
NBC has announced its first major casting for Annie Live! Variety reports, Academy Award and Emmy nominee Taraji P. Henson is set to play Miss Hannigan.
Miss Hannigan is the mean spirited manager of the orphanage where Annie lives. She hates children, a fact she makes abundantly clear in the song “Little Girls.”
She was famously played by the legendary Carol Burnett in the 1982 film. Cameron Diaz took on the role in the 2014 remake.
“Carol Burnett, who brought Miss Hannigan to life in the classic 1982 movie, is someone I have studied and idolized as far back as I can remember,” Henson said. “So when the opportunity came to me to join NBC and this incredible group of producers, I jumped! Carol, I hope to do you proud!”
Henson is most well known for playing Empire’s Cookie, as well as the films Hidden Figures, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Proud Mary.
Annie Live! premieres Thursday, Dec. 2 on NBC.

Chris Harrison Exits ‘Bachelor’ Franchise
There’s another major breakup in Bachelor Nation, except this time it’s between producers and longtime host Chris Harrison.
Deadline reports, after serving as host of The Bachelor franchise since day one, Harrison has exited the ABC reality staple.

After a contentious interview with Extra host/former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay, where Harrison talked over Lindsay and was seen as combative, he “stepped aside” from the final episodes of the season.
The Bachelorette Season 17 is currently hosted by former Bachelorettes Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams.
Bachelor in Paradise Season 7, which premieres Monday, Aug. 16 at 8/7c will feature a lineup of rotating guest hosts, including David Spade, Lil Jon, Tituss Burgess, and Lance Bass.
Harrison responded to the official announcement with a statement on Instagram.
“I’ve had a truly incredible run as host of The Bachelor franchise and now I’m excited to start a new chapter,” he wrote. “I’m so grateful to Bachelor Nation for all of the memories we’ve made together. While my two-decade journey is wrapping up, the friendships I’ve made will last a lifetime.”
The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
