‘Loki’ Premiere Date Set at Disney+
- Disney+ announced that Loki will premiere Friday, June 11, per The Hollywood Reporter.
- Loki is the third Marvel Studios series to hit Disney+, following WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
- Tom Hiddleston is joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant.
- The series picks up Loki’s story after he disappeared with the space stone in Avengers: Endgame. Marvel is being as secretive as usual, but it does involve him interacting with the Time Variance Authority.
- New episodes of WandaVision debut every Friday on Disney+
- The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres Friday, March 19 on Disney+.
‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ Premieres on Star Wars Day
- The latest Disney+ Star Wars series is set for a perfect premiere date, as Star Wars: The Bad Batch will hit the streaming network on Tuesday, May 4, yes Star Wars Day.
- StarWars.com reports, The Bad Batch follows “elite and experimental troopers of Clone Force 99 as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch, as they prefer to be called — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill, which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.”
- Star Wars animation vet Dee Bradley Baker is joined in the voice cast by Ming-Na, reprising her The Mandalorian character Fennec Shand.
- Star Wars guru Dave Filoni is among the show’s executive producers.
- Star Wars: The Bad Batch premieres on Disney+ Tuesday, May 4, with new episodes debuting every Friday beginning May 7.
‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Season 4 Gets April Premiere
- Hulu’s critically acclaimed drama The Handmaid’s Tale has set Wednesday, April 28 for the premiere of Season 4.
- When we last saw Elisabeth Moss’ June, she was seriously injured after rescuing a group of children from Gilead. The teaser shows June surviving, and possibly becoming a full-fledged member of the rebellion.
- McKenna Grace has joined the show on a recurring basis as Mrs. Keyes, a Commander’s teenage wife. She’s “a sharply intelligent spouse who rules her farm and household with confidence. She has a rebellious, subversive streak, and is calm and pious on the outside with turmoil, even insanity, on the inside.”

Gillian Anderson to Play Eleanor Roosevelt in ‘The First Lady’
- Showtime’s The First Lady has tapped a stellar cast of actresses for the anthology series. Now Gillian Anderson is set to portray Eleanor Roosevelt, per The Hollywood Reporter.
- Anderson joins previously announced Viola Davis as Michelle Obama and Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty Ford. Davis is also executive producing through her JuVee Productions.
- The X-Files vet was most recently seen as another powerful woman as The Crown’s Margaret Thatcher.
- The First Lady will follow the “personal and political lives” of these famous historical figures.
‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Travels to Sundays in New CW Spring Schedule
- The CW is shuffling its schedule in the Spring, and among the big changes is Legends of Tomorrow moving to Sundays at 8/7c, beginning Sunday, May 2.
- It will be followed by Batwoman, which moves to 9/8c.
- Legends of Tomorrow Season 6 features the Waverider crew searching for its captain after Sara was kidnapped by aliens in the Season 5 finale.
- The new schedule also includes Dynasty Season 4 back on Fridays at 9/8c, beginning May 7. It will be paired with Charmed, which will air at 8/7c.
- Additionally, In the Dark Season 3 hits screens Wednesday, June 9 at 9/8c, while new series Kung Fu premieres Wednesday, April 7 at 8/7c, and The Republic of Sarah debuts Monday, June 14 at 9/8c.
- Though the network has been airing commercials promoting a Summer premiere for Stargirl, there is no date announced for it, the final season of Supergirl, or Roswell, New Mexico.
‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff, ‘Ray Donovan’ Movie Among New Paramount+ Projects
- During its investor day presentation, ViacomCBS announced several new projects for its Paramount+ streaming service.
- CBS All Access will be rebranded into Paramount+ March 4. To start, pricing will stay the same, however, in June the entry-level subscription featuring ads will be $4.99/month, while the premium package without ads will be $9.99/month.
- Taylor Sheridan is expanding the world of Yellowstone with a spinoff titled 6666, per Variety.
- “Founded when Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666. Still operating as it did two centuries before, and encompassing an entire county, the 6666 is where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing. The 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavor to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world class cowboys are born and made.”
- This project is separate from the previously announced Yellowstone prequel set in the 1880s.
- When Showtime abruptly canceled Ray Donovan in February 2020, fans wondered if they would ever get proper closure. Well, now they can relax, because Liev Schreiber is bringing back the tough guy for a movie, per TVLine.
- The film will pick up right after Season 7, and find Ray once again chasing his wayward criminal father Mickey, played by Jon Voight, who will also return.
- Ray Donovan is expected to hit Paramount+ in 2022.
- Variety reports, the streaming network is ordering the Fraiser revival to series, with Kelsey Grammer returning to star and executive produce.
- In addition to Fraiser, Paramount+ is also reviving MTV and VH1 favorites Road Rules, Unplugged, Yo! MTV Raps, and Behind the Music, per Variety.
- TVLine reports RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6 is moving from VH1 to the streaming network. Details on cast and premiere date are not yet known.
- According to Variety, Younger Season 7, its last, will debut on Paramount+ before it airs on TV Land, but no actual premiere date has been confirmed.
- From Comedy Central the streamer will include the return of Inside Amy Schumer, Workaholics, Reno: 911!, Beavis & Butthead, and The Daily Show spinoff The Weekly Show with Trevor Noah.
- Variety reports, The Weekly Show with Trevor Noah will have the host doing weekly explorations of the news and interviews with “people behind the headlines.”
- Inside Amy Schumer will air as five specials, Workaholics features the original cast returning for a movie, Reno: 911! The Search for QAnon is a “Supersized event,” and creator Mike Judge brings back Beavis & Butthead in a movie.
- Paramount+ is set to launch March 4.
Amazon Developing Lady Jaye Centric ‘G.I. Joe’ Series
- Hasbro isn’t done with live-action G.I. Joe yet. Amazon is in early development on a series based on Lady Jaye, per Deadline.
- One of the few female Joes, Lady Jaye was first introduced in the ’80s cartoon, but became so popular she got an action figure and was written into the comics.
- She was previously played on screen by Adrianne Palicki in 2013’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
- Creator/showrunner Erik Oleson currently works with Amazon as showrunner/executive producer on Carnival Row.
Peacock Orders ‘Frogger’ Competition Series
- Gamers of a certain age rejoice! Peacock has ordered a competition series based on the arcade classic Frogger, per Deadline.
- The original game had players guiding a frog across highways and rivers while dodging various dangers like trucks and alligators.
- The 13-episode physical competition will feature players dodging obstacles like “speeding traffic, snapping gators and hungry hippos.”
- It is being produced by Eureka Productions, the company behind ABC’s miniature golf-themed Holey Moley.
