The Blacklist: 22 Actresses We’d Love to be Blacklisters
Each week on The Blacklist viewers meet a new enemy who is out in the world doing something nefarious.
Over the course of 4 seasons numerous enemies have been identified, pursued, and apprehended by the task force at the center of the series. When you look at the Blacklisters as a whole you see murderers, evil scientists, and corrupt businessman, but unfortunately you will find very few women.
The Blacklist has featured 15 entries on Red’s Blacklist that were women to date, which is a crime itself.
Jennifer Ehle, Melora Hardin, and Susan Misner are among the actresses who played people on the list. Krysten Ritter was a standout as assassin Lord Baltimore, as was Dianne Wiest who played The Judge, a woman who held individuals who broke the rules while putting criminals in prison, and the same goes for Ana de la Reguera’s Vanessa Cruz.
Point is the women who have guest starred on the series have been great, and there should be more of them. To that end, here are 22 actress who would make fantastic additions to The Blacklist, one for every episode in a typical season of the drama.
Gina Torres

Many of men on The Blacklist have been rich people with nice suits who also do terrible things. Imagine what the series could do with the talented actress who played both Jessica Pearson on Suits and Anna Espinosa on Alias.
Jessica kicks ass and takes names in the courtroom. She keeps her firm in line, and you definitely don’t want to get on Jessica’s bad side. Anna was also someone not to be trifled with, but she was a villainous and vicious foreign operative.
Gina Torres could make some very serious trouble for Reddington and the task force.
Piper Perabo

I spend a lot of time thinking about USA’s cancellation of Covert Affairs after its fifth season.
The drama starred Piper Perabo as CIA agent Annie Walker as she walks into the door on her first day and finds a far more complex world than she anticipated. Operative Walker was a spy with a heart of gold, which didn’t stop her from making tough, and occasionally lethal, calls.
The Blacklist has included many criminals who believe they have the best intentions, which would be the type of villain Perabo would play best.
Emily VanCamp

The best Blacklisters are smart, charismatic, and vicious, which anyone who saw Revenge knows Emily VanCamp is capable of playing the part. During the ABC drama’s run, VanCamp was great in action scenes and spent each episode taking down people she classified an enemy.
If Marvel isn’t using her as Sharon Carter, then The Blacklist should definitely give her a call.
Jamie Chung

Mulan is one of my favorite Disney characters, so I am very much aware of Once Upon A Time vet Jamie Chung. I remember her fondly as a Real World alum and star of miniseries Samurai Girl, which was one kick ass debut for the reality-star-turned-actress.
Chung’s characters have been tough and complex, a testament to the actress’ presence on screen, which is the recipe for a great Blacklister. As an actress who can pop in for one episode and make a mark, Chung would be a great choice, if the new X-Men drama The Gifted doesn’t keep her too busy.
Eliza Dushku

I recently saw a tweet saying watching Jessica Jones is like getting the Faith spinoff Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans didn’t get, and now all I want is more Eliza Dushku on my television.
Faith has a memorable redemption arc — she went from good to evil to good again like none other. As vampire slayer Faith, the actress excelled in her many actions scenes and played arguably the show’s darkest character. Her recent arc on Banshee is evidence that Dushku’s still got it.
Dushku would make for a fantastic Blacklister.
Ivana Miličević

Ivana Miličević was an actress that had been in the background of many shows, but that all changed when Banshee began. She played Carrie, the wonderful mother who was a highly skilled operative running from her crime boss father.
The actress would do great things on a high-octane episode of The Blacklist. She would wear villain very well.
