The 100 Season 5: Clarke’s Daughter, Possible Reunions, and More Teases from San Diego Comic-Con
If a San Diego Comic-Con Panel is meant to do one thing, it’s get people excited about the new season of whatever show is having that panel.
And, if we’re going to judge by that standard, then we have to call The 100 San Diego Comic-Con Panel this year, which featured Eliza Taylor, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropolous, Lindsey Morgan, Christopher Larkin, Richard Harmon and executive producer Jason Rothenberg, a resounding success.
Not that they gave away much information – which, to be honest, was to be expected. The show doesn’t return until 2018, and the cast has only seen the first script and filmed absolutely no scenes, so really, what could they tease?
Maddie – for one, which the trailer did, in spectacular fashion, with a voice-over that left everyone in the room speechless. The time jump – which we already know is around six years, at least one more year than they were supposed to be away.
Oh, yes, and the prison ship. At least in that respect we got some answers.
“The prison ship [from the finale] is from Earth,” showrunner Jason Rothenberg shared. “They’re from before the first apocalypse. They were in hyper-sleep for 100 years. They’ve come back to this planet that they don’t recognize. All that’s left is this Garden of Eden that Clarke’s been living in with her daughter.”
Her. Daughter.
Big words and a big time jump that will allow Eliza Taylor to play Clarke as someone close to her in age and also someone way more mature, and thanks to Maddie, perhaps more optimistic.
“It’ll be exciting to see her as a 24-year-old woman who’s been through so much and is now taking on this maternal role,” Taylor said with a grin.
As for the people in space, Rothenberg didn’t want to tease much about who they’d become or even, what new couples might have been formed during the past six years, but he did make it a point to remind us that “six years is a long time.”
The actors, however, all had something to say about who they’d be after six years – with Morgan teasing that Raven is “a key ingredient in the mix for their survival. Her heart weighs on her a lot. The only reason everyone is in space is because of Raven.”
Harmon, meanwhile, said that all of them had to change up in space, which was freeing in many ways. “Over six years, a lot of therapy can happen. Murphy’s definitely going to change,” and Larkin gave reassurances first and then got cagey stating that: “Harper is Monty’s main lifeline. He owes her his life. She chose him. I don’t know if they’re still together. … Maybe Monty and Murphy are together. It’s been six years!”

The panel also provided information about who’s coming and going in Season 5, with new series regular Tasya Teles, who plays Echo, joining the rest of the cast to talk about Echo’s future, teasing that: “I was thinking she’d get close to Raven for some reason. They’re girls who get things done. I see those two having an alliance.”
Rothenberg confirmed Zack McGowan would be a series regular as well, Indra was still alive, and Luna would be making a return in Season 5. He also confirmed Lexa would not be coming back in any form.
As for the bunker and Octavia, Avgeropoulos admitted that, “Octavia doesn’t have a clue what she’s doing,” and said we should expect an even darker turn this season, as her character is still trying to fix the hole left by Lincoln’s death.
On top of that, she teased that the new leader has a plan to keep the peace in the bunker, and we’d see how she dealt with that without setting off chaos.

Finally, considering how everyone teased that six years was a lot of time, there was, of course, the question of how everyone would look after six years, and if there’d be any noticeable changes. Jason wouldn’t comment on it, but it seems like the cast finds the idea of Bob Morley with a beard pretty hilarious.
We happen to disagree. Bob Morley could probably rock the beard. In fact, most of the cast probably would. That’s how pretty they are.
And on top of that, they’re also pretty nice, as we discovered when we had a chance to interview them – so truly, how could we feel anything but excited for The 100 Season 5?
Now the only bad news is that we have to wait until 2018.
The 100 returns to The CW in 2018.
