A new face is heading to Grey’s Anatomy.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the role of Owen’s sister has been recast. Bridget Regan originally appeared as Megan in Season 13, but because of her time commitment to TNT’s The Last Ship as Sasha Cooper, she’ll no longer be able to fill the role on Grey’s Anatomy.

Instead, Abigail Spencer will be replacing her as Megan Hunt for a multi-episode arc during Grey’s Anatomy Season 14.

That role should be an interesting one, considering we’ve so far only seen Megan in a flashback. Owen believed his sister to be dead until the end of last season, and so did her fiancé, Nathan Riggs.

Megan’s shocking return is sure to shake things up in some complicated ways, especially since Meredith and Nathan had finally just begun a romantic relationship. It’s also already had a dramatic effect on Owen.

Abigail Spencer currently stars as Lucy Preston on NBC’s Timeless, which was recently un-cancelled by the network. Spencer is also known for her role on Rectify as Amantha Holden and as Dana Scott on Suits.
