13 Teen Shows from the ’90s You Forgot Were Totally Rad!

Lists

Remember when you raced home from school with pockets full of your brand new Pogs and a bottle of Fruitopia in your possession? You’d toss aside your Jansport and your panda bear Trapper Keeper, and tune in to Beverly Hills, 90210.

You also probably remember every moment of Zack and Kelly’s love on Saved By the Bell. It’s likely that Clarissa Explained it All to you.

We all remember the biggest teen shows that came from the ’90s, but they weren’t the only ones you turned the dial on your TV for.

Here, in no particular order, are 13 shows teenagers from the ’90s totally forgot they watched!

1. The Heights

YouTube video

The 13-episode Fox show followed the fictional band, The Heights, as they embarked on quasi-stardom, and launched the careers of stars Charlotte Ross and Jamie Walters. You probably wore out your cassette of “How Do You Talk to An Angel” and totally wanted Jamie Walters to be your boyfriend.

2. Teen Angel

Marty should NOT have eaten that old hamburger. It was a bad call. When he dies because of it (seriously), he ends up a teen guardian angel for his BFF Steve. It may not have been TGIF’s biggest hit, but Marty was super cute.

3. City Guys

C-i-t-y, you can see why these guys, the neat guys, are smart and street-wise. Jamal and Chris were the best of bros, hanging out and having NBC Saturday morning teen issues in New York City. The stakes were never terribly high, but the city guys always had each others’ backs.

4. Sweet Valley High

Based on the best-selling book series about the Wakefield twins, Sweet Valley High took the pages we devoured about Elizabeth and Jessica and brought them to life. The show was everything we wanted and more, letting us totally fall in love with the SVH gang all over again!

5. Swans Crossing

Before she was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar was Sydney Rutledge, a bitchy high school girl who was the Queen Bee of the fictional beach town. The show was full of drama, from the halls of high school to higher stakes politics and everything in between.

6. Hang Time

Anthony Anderson was seen shooting hoops on this NBC Saturday morning classic about a high school boys basketball team led by a girl! (gasp!) Julie Connor was a fashionista off the court, and a force to be reckoned with when it was game time.
