Suits Review: Turn (Season 6 Episode 4)

Reviews, Suits

Come on, as soon as Cahill mentions the deal, we all know that Mike will be taking it eventually.

It wouldn’t make narrative sense if Mike didn’t take it. I mean how would we keep justifying spending time with Mike as this season of Suits progresses if he didn’t take the deal? You can only watch Mike trying not to die in prison for so long before it gets boring.

“Turn” features Harvey and Cahill trying to get Mike to reach that decision. Drugging Mike probably isn’t the best way to go about it, but hey, Harvey Specter gets results.

Harvey being behind drugging Mike is obvious, but it is still pretty awesome to see him stroll around the prison. I especially love watching him interact with Kevin. Mike’s prison life and outside life briefly intertwine, and it’s weird in a great way.

Trust and loyalty are huge parts of Suits. It’s what Mike and Harvey’s relationship is founded upon. Okay, a big part of their relationship is sarcasm and the love of movies and quoting them constantly, but you get my point.

Even though Mike’s a fraud, he’s loyal and trustworthy. He always has been.

I completely understand why Mike hesitates when the deal is offered to him. Kevin saved his life, and Kevin is Mike’s only friend. He’s the only one Mike can trust in prison, and Mike can’t go back to having absolutely no one in there.

It would not have felt right if Mike took the deal immediately because that’s not who Mike is. If it was any one else in the prison, Mike probably would have taken the deal, but Harvey was asking Mike to turn on his friend.

Let’s switch gears to Pearson Specter Litt.

The traders are amusing, especially since every time Louis calls them that, my mind automatically hears “traitors” before I realize what Louis is actually saying. To be honest, Louis could actually mean it both ways. Anyways, they are a great source of comedy in the office.

Let’s have them just be the comedic element, okay? It’s more entertaining that way.

I don’t need little wars happening between them and various members of Pearson Specter Litt, unless it’s a prank war. Their storyline needs to be kept light because everywhere else is so serious.

Jessica: You want me to further antagonize people that I’m already fighting with because you don’t have the balls to ask a woman out on a date?

Louis meeting and falling in love with the architect is weird for a number of reasons.

First off, it feels out of place with the rest of the storylines. Yes, he hires her because he hates the traders, but it’s not enough to make it feel like it fits in with the rest of the hour.

Secondly, it makes Louis look creepy. He is hiring her just to somehow make her fall in love with him or, at least, to get a date. Personally, I could have done without it.
