9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 17 Preview: I Got You Babe

9-1-1, Previews

It seems like 9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 17, “I Got You Babe,” is bringing back some of the show’s most nerve-wracking hits.

First, the team responds to a call where a child is stuck on an electrical tower. It looks like he went up there for the red balloon, and it’s up to the team to get him down safely. Eddie says they’re up against 34,000 volts, which is, well, a lot.

This emergency immediately draws the memory back to when Buck was struck by lightning in 9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 10, “In a Flash.” So, it’s really no wonder that the episode description reveals that Buck is faced with his past on this call.

It’s perhaps more intriguing as to why Buck looks more concerned in another call from “I Got You Babe.”

Maddie, who is still learning how to navigate her role as supervisor, directs the 118 to respond to an emergency where a boat comes off its hitch on a bridge. Athena also appears to be on the scene when a car crashes into the boat, creating a large fire.

The promo for the 9-1-1 episode ends with Buck being held back and looking distressed. It’s easy to imagine that Buck would have that reaction if anyone from the 118 were hurt — that’s his family.

However, the 118 is on a bridge, and 9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 1, “Eat the Rich,” has a scene where Eddie dives off a bridge to save Tripp Hauser’s life. Could this be happening again in a different context? That’s where my mind goes, anyway. There really is no way to know until the season’s penultimate episode airs.

Here’s everything you need to know about this episode, including the air date, cast, promo, and how to watch.
