Tracker Season 3 Episode 18, “Alaskan Wild,” finally features a new development in the mystery surrounding Ashton Shaw’s death.

Unfortunately, Colter learns the new information at the beginning of the episode, and the actual storyline that follows is not one of the show’s best.

Colter unexpectedly ends up looking for Ian Morrison’s parents, who mysteriously vanish off their boat. While the premise has a lot of potential, the execution falls flat.

There is no real mystery that follows Colter’s search for the Morrisons. He quickly discerns what happened with Randy’s tech help, give or take a few small details.

Even though “Alaskan Wild” depicts the Morrisons’ whereabouts alongside Colter’s search, it is still not enough to establish a compelling storyline.

The episode offers no exciting twist whatsoever, despite the narrative ramping up the stakes when Vera Morrison fights off an attacker.

Otherwise, Colter’s case on “Alaskan Wild” is nothing extraordinary. It is a clear-cut plot in which the Morrisons are accidentally drawn into a couple’s revenge ploy against a notorious drug lord.

It is disappointing that the narrative is stagnant, especially since Season 3 features riveting storylines with incredibly high stakes and volatile situations.

Tracker Season 3 Episode 17, “Alaskan Wild,” might not have a gripping case, but Reenie’s return more than makes up for it.

After her notable absence on Season 3 Episode 16, “Daughters,” it is refreshing to see Reenie again, as she prepares for the upcoming Praiter and Rockwell lawsuit.

The show raises the stakes significantly when Reenie discovers someone is stalking her in an attempt to get her to back down from including wrongful death in the lawsuit.

It is unknown who is after Reenie, but the chances of the culprit being Maxine are becoming less likely, especially since her firm approved the motion to add wrongful death to the case.

This sudden turn of events is somewhat surprising, especially since Tracker has hinted that Maxine might have ulterior motives.

However, Tracker might be deliberately steering the narrative away from Maxine to make her seem like an innocent player, so that when the show reveals sinister intentions later, it is a truly shocking twist.

Only time will tell what Maxine’s true motive is, but Reenie must still determine who is behind these serious threats.

Colter Shaw: I found out who dad was working with before he died. This uh… runs pretty deep.

Of course, Reenie will not tell Colter about these new circumstances because if he had the slightest inkling, he would make it his mission to become Reenie’s personal bodyguard until the situation was resolved.

Given that Colter relies on being a nomad for his income, Reenie would not want him to worry about her, especially since he is still seeking answers about his father’s death.

Despite Colter’s case lacking substance, Tracker is inevitably inching closer to the season finale with the new information Colter learns regarding his father’s time in Alaska in the months before his untimely death.

Now, Colter must use the best of his abilities to track down his next clue with Dr. Serena Jukic, someone who knows exactly what happened in Alaska.

However, it will not be an easy task to find her, so Colter enlists Russell’s help at the end of “Alaskan Wild.”

It is unknown whether Russell will accept Colter’s request, especially since Russell has made significant progress regarding coming to terms with their father’s death, while Colter still struggles.

The narrative could go anywhere at this point, given how little is known about Dr. Serena Jukic. Hopefully, Tracker will continue to surprise audiences with epic plot twists.
