Tracker Season 3 Episode 12, “Do No Harm,” is an exciting episode that explores complex themes as Colter races against the clock to find a missing doctor.

“Do No Harm” examines the fine line between justice and revenge, all while delivering a thrilling storyline.

One reason this episode is so riveting is how the show frames the narrative.

For instance, the opening scene consists of a mysterious man guiding a drunk and possibly drugged woman named Evie to an unknown location.

Most Tracker episodes do not reveal the circumstances of a character’s disappearance until later in the narrative, but setting the scene immediately ignites curiosity over what will happen next.

Evie’s disappearance only becomes more intriguing when Colter learns that stolen drugs from a hospital and her secretive past are involved.

Reenie: Yeah, I mean trauma right? It can really haunt you in ways you can never imagine.

“Do No Harm” also introduces several plot twists that significantly raise the stakes, further enhancing this episode.

Often, the missing people Colter has to find have disappeared because someone else has kidnapped them. However, “Do No Harm” flips it around by revealing that Evie abducted Josh, and not the other way around.

Tracker‘s narrative decision takes the episode in a new direction, opening up a realm of possibilities for Evie’s motives. Her reasoning behind kidnapping Josh introduces the theme of justice versus revenge, with no easy answers to the questions that follow.

Above all else, Evie is a doctor, and all doctors must take the Hippocratic Oath upon gaining their license. No matter what her personal feelings might be, hurting someone intentionally goes against everything she should stand for.

On the other hand, it is easy to understand where Evie is coming from, considering that the two men who raped her during college got away with it, while she has had to live with the incident ever since.

Josh and Victor should face justice for what they did to Evie, no matter how long ago it occurred. However, it is difficult to decide where to draw the line between justice and revenge, especially with Evie enduring such a violent trauma.

Tracker illustrates how to execute an ideal resolution for such a complex situation while still honoring the narrative themes.

Despite Evie’s determination to kill Victor, she realizes it is not worth it. However, Victor gains the upper hand and attempts to kill Evie himself, indicating that he has not changed one bit.

Victor is fully aware of his criminal actions during college, and by severely injuring Evie, he stands by them.

Of course, Colter arrives just in time before Victor can kill Evie. Colter knows that despite Evie’s intense and illegal ploy for revenge, she is simply a woman hurting as a result of an unimaginable trauma. She needs professional help to get back on track and heal from her anguish.

However, Victor is a remorseless rapist who was ready to murder Evie to silence her forever. Josh may have confessed to Evie, but it turns out he is a suspect in multiple sexual assault cases.

Josh and Victor are the clear villains on this episode. Evie recognizes her wrongs and will likely find an alternate path to heal. In contrast, Josh and Victor know they are rapists, but they do not care and even commit multiple offenses.

Colter: This guy deserves justice, but right now we need to find your sister before she does something that she can’t… take back.

Tracker Season 3 Episode 12, “Do No Harm,” also confirms that Reenie’s storyline with Maxine’s potentially corrupt law firm will bleed into multiple episodes, with many factors to consider before it comes to an end.

It is clear that Reenie will struggle with this case because of enduring a brutal kidnapping and physical assault on Tracker Season 2 Episode 19, “Rules of the Game.” This experience will likely leave Reenie on the fence about whether to stand up to Maxine.

However, Mel is ready to help Reenie as much as she possibly can. This case will be Mel’s chance to shine as a character and to be there for Reenie when no one else can.
