Chicago Med Season 11 Episode 9 Review: Blindsided
Viewers might be confused by the beginning of Chicago Med Season 11 Episode 9, “Blindsided,” as we see Bert take his last breath. For many (or maybe it was just me), Bert had passed away on Chicago Med Season 11 Episode 6, “The Story of Us.”
That’s at least what the ending of that episode made most of us feel. The show should have been a little bit clearer after that episode that Bert was still alive, but barely conscious. That way, we would have been prepared to see his return and his demise.
Goodwin handles it as she does everything by being a class act and a lady. While she had said goodbye to Bert a long time ago, it is clear that his death has an effect on her that might stay with her for a little while. Nevertheless, she persists and goes back to work.
Mark Asher Speaks The Truth

When news of Asher’s dad coming into town hit the fandom, people wondered how the meeting between him and Archer would go. As expected, the show introduces chaos from the moment these two men meet.
Archer treats Mark terribly, reprimanding him for the workers not being careful with hospital material as they work in the rooms. While this is inexcusable and Archer should have known better, it shows how upset he has been after the blackout. But he gets even more upset when he realizes he is talking to Hannah’s father.
Before the tension rises, there’s a beautiful moment in which Hannah tells Archer how much she believes in him. She is always encouraging him because she knows his good side and what a kind man he can be. But what truly stands out is the fact that Dean is willing to do absolutely anything for her.
On Chicago Med Season 11 Episode 8, “Triple Threat,” he makes it clear that whatever her wishes are, he will comply. Now, he agrees to be amicable and have lunch with her father to try to smooth things over.
While there is a lot that can be said about the circumstances in which this baby came to be and the age gap between Archer and Asher, no one can deny that Archer will go to the ends of the world to protect Hannah. He is the only one who has always believed in her and protected her when needed.
He does so again by confronting her father. Instead of staying on Mark’s good side and complying with what Hannah asked of him, Archer argues with Mark. He points out everything he shouldn’t have said to his daughter, and makes it very clear that since he isn’t on his good side, he will go down swinging and protecting Hannah. Archer remarks, once again, what an incredible woman she is and what a great mother she will be.

Archer’s feelings for Asher have been undeniable. Viewers have seen them for many seasons now, troubled by the love triangle between him, Hannah, and Ripley. But no matter who the love interest was, Archer always stood by Asher and hoped for the best for her.
Even though their hook-up didn’t happen onscreen, many fans weren’t surprised to find out he was the father. The truth is that the chemistry between these two characters is palpable through the screen, and it makes perfect sense that this is the way things happened.
However, Asher seems to be the only one clueless to Archer’s feelings…or she is really good at pretending she doesn’t know. But now that her father has said it loud and clear, “That man is head over heels in love with you,” she can no longer escape it.
It will be quite interesting to see where things go from here. Asher will undoubtedly try to ignore this realization, and Kingston’s presence might bring a little more chaos into this rocking ship.
Whatever the case may be, Chicago Med can no longer deny the fact that Dasher is one of the best ships we have seen on the show.
Charles’s Future

It’s always fun to see Theo back at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center because he brings out a different side of Charles or makes him see things differently. He brings balance to Charles’s experience and the innovations happening around him. This time around, he helps him realize that his doctor’s advice to revisit his antidepressant prescription might be the right thing to do.
All season long, Charles has been struggling with his career and whether he should continue. Now, there might be a perfectly reasonable explanation for why this happened and why his body has been reacting the way it has. Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean this is any easier for him to accept.
He has found comfort and safety in his medication, something that’s not always easy for patients dealing with depression. So, it is completely normal that the idea of having to change prescriptions terrifies him. However, he has seen how positively this affects patients around him, so he knows it’s not always as scary as it sounds.
With him choosing to take time off, we hope the show doesn’t forget this storyline and actually allows viewers to witness how he deals with this new and rather significant change in his life.

Meanwhile, Frost’s storyline seemed to have come to a halt. But that changes the moment his former co-star comes onto the scene.
It is clear that Frost will not be going back to the cameras, but it seems that every time one of these stars comes back into his life, he goes into a spiral. After watching his co-star steal a prescription, we hope that isn’t the case again.
There is so much in Frost that could and should be explored, and we hope Chicago Med decides to take that leap at some point.
