Chicago Fire Season 14 Episode 21 Review: Thank You
Chicago Fire Season 14 Episode 21, “Thank you,” really leaves fans on the edge of their seats until the next season. Will we lose a character we love? Will we lose more than one character? Or will the next season reveal everyone made it home safe?
The episode combines what happened and what’s happening to keep viewers on the edge, guessing what might come next. It gives us a puzzle of happy moments and a big tragedy to keep us wondering.
If certain episodes of Chicago Fire can be labeled as boring or slow, this season finale is neither of those terms. It’s engaging, entertaining, and anxiety-inducing. Truly, we need more episodes like this one.

Herrmann and Cindy decide to renew their vows, reminding one another and those who surround them that there is plenty to be grateful for. Both their speeches are heartwarming and a perfect representation of what this relationship means to the show.
The Herrmanns have been the most stable couple on the show, representing marriage, love, trust, and care in a world that keeps the characters on the edge at all times.
But the focus on this storyline makes us wonder if Herrmann will be the one to lose his life in that storage facility fire. The feeling that something might happen to him intensifies when Cindy mentions that she fears for his life every time he walks out the door. And even more so when Herrmann begins to talk about the possibility of retiring.
It is the same fear that Isaiah voices when he is back with Kelly and Stella. As he talks to Kelly about what he might do next, he mentions that working at OFI would be a safer option. This is understandable when we learn that he ran away from Cleveland because his mother can no longer care for him, and he wants to live with them again.
Could Isaiah’s fear push Kelly to make a choice? Or will his fear become a reality, and Kelly won’t make it out alive?

And as Kelly and Stella get another chance at parenting, Cruz and Chloe discover their third chance is coming in a pair of twin girls. A joyful moment that is contrasted with a fire that might not let Cruz return home.
Mouch is getting the opportunity to become a published author, and Vasquez might become a cop after all. It seems like everyone is slowly getting their dream for it to be taken away from them…or at least from one of them.
One thing that stands out in this roll call of happy moments is Violet telling Novak that she can go after Vasquez if her feelings for him are real. It becomes clearer that those feelings are indeed very much real when she tells him that for her, being with him would be more than just fun.
Up until this moment, Novak has never been real about a relationship. She’s always wanted to keep things casual and fun, but it changes with Vasquez. She genuinely wants to build something with him.
Could it be that the show takes that away from her as she finally opens up her heart?

Chicago Fire Season 14 Episode 21, “Thank you,” does the incredible job of keeping viewers second-guessing who might or might not die. As the team works the fire, we see each of them in danger and the people waiting for them back home.
These moments are the best way to avoid revealing exactly who might die. The cliffhanger gives us no answer. We have no idea what’s coming, and that’s why fans will tune in for the Chicago Fire Season 15 premiere.
