We’ve seen a timey-wimey prehistoric adventure with a tease of a Western opening as well as a tribute to Film Noir and the Golden Age of Hollywood. Most recently, the season took on the ever-enduring disaster film on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 Episode 6, “Off-Hour.”
For “Like Chronitons Through the Hourglass,” the series is jumping from the big screen to the small screen to take on the Soap Opera.
On the episode, the crew encounters a space trickster, one that might be familiar to some long-time Trek fans.
That trickster quite literally turns their lives into a real-life soap opera with all the over-the-top twists and jaw-dropping turns that it entails. As if life aboard the Enterprise wasn’t dramatic enough!
The other little tidbit we get from the episode description is that on “Like Chronitons Through the Hourglass,” Pike will confront the what-ifs and if-onlys that could have been.
Whether it’s because of the trickster’s intervention or just Pike ruminating on things, Pike will spend the episode grappling with the choices not made and the life he almost had.
