What to Expect from Doc Season 2 Episode 5: Tightrope
A popular weight loss drug and a messy family situation make things difficult for Amy as she tries to treat her latest patient on Doc Season 2 Episode 5, “Tightrope.”
As is so often the case on Doc, the interpersonal relationships of Amy’s patient on “Tightrope” are as much the focus as the patient’s diagnosis. This time, Amy must contend with a frayed romantic relationship and a diagnosis that has consequences not only for the patient but also for the patient’s sister.
And it’s all tied to a weight loss drug that is somehow at the center of the patient’s medical situation.
But it’s not just patients with family drama on “Tightrope.” Viewers learn more about Hannah and what happened to her dad, and it looks like we’ll be discovering some of those details alongside Hannah.
On Doc Season 1 Episode 4, “Something to Prove,” it didn’t seem like Hannah bore any ill will towards Amy despite Amy’s history with her dad. That seemed odd given Hannah’s clearly unresolved feelings about her dad’s death.
Now we might know why. The promo for “Tightrope” shows Hannah learning from an HR person that her dad had filed a complaint against Amy and Hannah then realizing her dad killed himself shortly after that.
You have to wonder what grudge the HR person has against Amy to do something so wildly inappropriate. Especially considering we know that his complaint was meritless and that Amy tried to help him.
Whatever the reason, at least from the looks of the promo, Hannah only gets one side of the story. Until Amy gets more memories back, that’s all she’s going to get, too.
It doesn’t put Amy in the best light. If Hannah didn’t have it out for Amy before, it certainly looks like she will have cause to by the end of “Tightrope.”
