Will Trent Season 3 Episode 12 Review: You’re the Worst Person In the World
The world’s weight continues to crush our favorite TV detective. For his sanity, he cannot continue down this path. Will Trent Season 3 Episode 12, “You’re the Worst Person in the World,” puts Will in one of his most dangerous situations yet.
He joins a cult.
This undercover mission could break the already broken detective. This episode deals with the aftermath of Will Trent Season 3 Episode 11, “ Best of Your Recollection.” The accidental shooting still haunts him.

As a result, he distances himself from Marion while leaning on Angie again and furthering his broken partnership with Faith.
Will has become a justifiable mess.
The series has been approaching this police accidental shooting situation realistically because he must go through the pain of all this to overcome it. It’s not something easy to fix in one episode.
The death of that boy will likely haunt Will for as many seasons as the show exists. Hopefully, that’s a very long time.
Ramon Rodriguez continues his quest for the Emmy by adding more layers to Will. His pain radiates in every scene.

“You’re the Worst Person In the World” is the first time Will isn’t likable. He shouldn’t be.
He pushes away someone who loves him, doesn’t take advice, and behaves recklessly.
His social awkwardness is also shining through.
Will has been destroyed and the audience feels the weight of that alongside him. He isn’t the same man we have come to love. He is angry, guilt-ridden, and depressed.
We know that by the time this multi-episode storyline ends, Will may repair some of the destruction.

However, the damage is permanent. He cannot return to his same self. This opens the door for some interesting developments in future Will Trent.
Will Trent has really been experimenting this season by exploring topics, settings, and cases not seen in the first two seasons.
This cult storyline is another multi-episode plot, which can only mean a captivating resolution. Cults are intriguing, so putting Will in one can only enhance the season.
Most likely, the cult train ends next week, but I wish it continued for at least one more episode – there are so many potential layers to this storyline, including digging deeper into Will’s current mental state.
“You’re the Worst Person in the World” doesn’t quite match the quality of “The Best of Your Recollection.” However, it’s a nice companion to it. This plot leads us to yet another multiple episode exciting event.

Stray Thoughts
- I don’t like that Seth and Angie are so good together, but I can feel the Will and Angie reunion brewing.
- The way Will treats Marion really didn’t sit right with me, and I didn’t even know how I felt about them a couple of weeks ago.
- The cheetos eating for first time scene is the comedy this episode needs.
- Missing Rafael. Been gone for too many episodes.
- Love how Will fell in love with Seth briefly. I hope the show goes down the bromance route with them.
- Wonder how the Jeremy thing changes with Faith now in charge.
- Also appreciate them explaining that Will has to make him an informant because it isn’t completely clear originally. It seems he has to in the moment but the ongoing part is a choice.
