Suits: LA Season 1 Episode 4 Review: Batman Returns
Ted relies on help from Amanda as he makes a motion to move Lester’s trial up on Suits: LA Season 1 Episode 4, “Batman Returns.”
Multitasking on different fronts, Ted focuses on proving Lester’s innocence while still keeping his name attached to his film. As a direct result of his criminal trial, the film company intends to release Lester’s movie, but without his name attached.
Meanwhile, Rick has the opportunity to show Stuart why he’s head of entertainment. Actor Enrico Colantoni portrays himself, attempting to avoid jail after a case of neighborly fighting turns ugly.

The Secret Weapon
Making good on her promise to come running with arms wide open in the case of Ted needing help working against Elizabeth, Amanda comes to the rescue on “Batman Returns.”
After convincing Stuart to up the trial date, Elizabeth makes a sorry attempt to delay proceeding forward. After weeks of court, she suddenly has an anonymous witness willing to testify. It seems she’ll come out on top at first, but Amanda squashes that reality in a fashionably late grand entrance to the courtroom.
As it turns out, Elizabeth has conjured mysterious witnesses in the past to delay court proceedings without them ever coming to light in the future. She ends up folding when called on her bluff in front of the judge, resulting in a satisfying victory for Ted and Amanda.

In an episode juggling multiple storylines and attempting to give each one the proper air time, Amanda’s interactions are some of the more fascinating aspects. The more we see her butt heads with Elizabeth, the more intrigued I am to learn the details behind their falling out.
Hopefully, Ted providing Amanda with an office on his floor means her presence will be more prevalent moving forward.

The Boss for a Reason
Marking the latest in a string of noteworthy actors to portray themselves, Enrico Colantoni graces fans with his guest appearance. Samantha tasks Rick with representing him alongside Stuart, not under the impression he can handle it without Rick’s help because of his bedside manner.

Colantoni is in a war with his neighbor, facing jail time for carving a male appendage into his hedges. As we learn toward the end, what stems from Colantoni’s irritation and motive isn’t the constant annoying actions but because his children are bigger fans of the streamer than they are him now, lighting a fire of jealousy within him.
This course of events allows Rick to use the skills that got him the job, reminding Stuart of the complexities of dealing with actors daily. Stuart is used to being a bad cop and coming off aggressively towards his clients who give push-back.
However, Rick has seen great success because of his sensitivity and ability to get the client to open up with comfort. It’s a trait Stuart could afford to put more effort into.
Stray Thoughts:
- After the build-up to Harvey Specter’s cameo this season, his first introduction feels a bit lackluster. It’ll be interesting to see where his three-episode arc eventually leads to.
- An entire episode without Leah honestly feels criminal at this point. She and Erica’s evolving relationship has been one of the most delightful elements of the series so far.
